Phil Robertson

Phil Robertson

3 жыл бұрын

Phil reveals how he really felt about "Duck Dynasty" coming to an end. Jase recalls a traumatic childhood birthday and explains his issue with keeping track of birthdays on Facebook. Al and Jase are plagued by text message threads, and Phil doesn't like anything that has the word "group" in it. Jase describes a memorable conversation about Jesus with his tour guide in Israel. And the guys get into Jesus the good shepherd, the meaning of John 10:29, and why you need to go read the red letters.

Fellow West Monroe resident here. Can you ask Phil live on the next episode: “Dad, how many text messages have you sent in your life?” Please 😆. Also I’m an old friend of Zach Dasher. I don’t know if he’s ever told you guys the story about baptizing a guy in his pond at their old house and the sky lit up with shooting stars when he was raised out of the water? That was me and it was physical evidence of rejoicing in Heaven. A modern day miracle. I needed that and will forever hold that moment near to my heart.

I have a traumatic memory of the day Elvis died, too. My mama was screaming and crying and I was scared out of my mind. We watch re-runs of Duck Dynasty, on Fox Nation, every single night. Loved Elvis. In his prime, he was the sexiest man to ever walk the earth. He was very religious too. He wore a cross & a Star of David, he said because he didn’t want to miss out on heaven due to a “technicality.” He studied all religions, he was a searcher, yet he said he was a Christian. He was a beautiful human being, so generous. ✝️ I love this family, I miss Duck Dynasty though. I’m disappointed that they didn’t use stuff Phil said. Phil I’ll always know your birthday now because mine is April 23 so I’ll always think of you the next day. Keep the podcasts coming and please have Si back on, he’s precious.

Well now , evolution is basically all about adding to that code and making survival and procreation more successful.. What is remarkable to me is how some creatures will go tens of hundreds of millions of years with very little change or additional complexity , while others like ourselves apparently grow more complex so very quickly.. Even as a youngin I had the thought that one day science would prove the existence of God , and one day God would prove the validity of science -- it is just a matter of time. . I just don't understand how people can convince themselves that because there is this sound theory of evolution somehow that means we weren't created by a creator -- who do they think created the rules , the processes , the infinitely complex checks and balances that make such things possible ? Take away one tiny aspect and _everything_ falls apart from stars , galaxies and frogs all the way down to how water flows , gravity functions and how humans fall in love.. It is all one beautiful system we don't fully understand , and likely never will , but boy is it fun to try to understand it because it is so magnificently beautiful.

I have Jewish friends, who are not Messianic Jews that I also have, that believe that others removed the body of Jesus somehow moved the monstrous rock & that He didn't rise from the dead. Believe that He claiming to be the Son of God committed a crime. We know He's the living God & will come again as they wait for the Messiah. They'll find our. Phil, the song...American Pie by Don McClane the line about the day that the music died is referring to the plane crash that killed Richie Vallens, The Big Bop, and another singer in a snow storm in 1962.

Sure Elvis died, but the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan died in that helicopter crash 30 years ago this August 27th. Now that was when the music really died!

WHEN BUDDY HOLLY DIED IS WHEN THEY MADE AMERICAN PIE

billyfromtheusa Listen to the podcast. Phil was taking about Don McLean’s song “American Pie”, thinking it was about Elvis dying. The previous comment is correct in stating that song was about the airplane crash in 1959, where several musicians died, including Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and “The Big Bopper” Richardson.

Hey JASE! This is on a different subject. but if you happen to read this. A fyi is if you want to teach a friend metal detecting take them to the old Drive in theater that was in one of yalls episodes. Find new coins for days and learn the different tones. Dont know why this came to mind but it did. Guess its because few pod cast ago you mentioned detecting and it stayed in my mind .

Jase is talking about birthdays and while I think of mine on occasion, I do not celebrate my birthday because I believe the only birthday that counts, is the day we are "Born Again by the Holy Spirit of Christ!"
