Rihanna, along with Beyoncé, have done a great job of that tricky transition from a pop star in their 20’s, to one in their 30’s. The fact that Rihanna did put her own money on funding almost all of her albums and singles means that she did had a lot more ownership over her music and original recordings. @davy2092 жыл бұрын
At the end, Rihanna funding her own music was one the best thing she decisions she ever made. Funding your own music meant that Rihanna had way more control over her music, especially her master recordings. It’s most likely why Rihanna was able to regain full ownership of her masters from Jay Z. (I’m not sure what type of deal was made between them, I'm just speculating that Rihanna most likely had to buy out Jay Z’s partial ownership and all other producers on her records and Jay Z not able to sell her masters without Rihanna’s consent.) That type of ownership is something many music artists don’t have control over, especially when it comes to Taylor Swift and her fight against her record label to regain ownership of her master recordings.

Great documentary! I love how Rihanna has grown over the years as an artist and as a businesswoman in the beauty industry and has more freedom to be herself and accomplish whatever goals she sets for herself! I know that 2 mil sounds like a lot, but if her management was relying so much on her money to fund her career... damn, they could've forced her to retire and left her broke while the management company lost almost nothing (they'd just move on to the next star). It's one thing if Rihanna had been the one making the bad decisions despite GOOD advice, but she was being lied to and misinformed left and right, which is even worse.

Damn she managed to survive all that? Man I don’t blame her for not dropping music
@davy2092 жыл бұрын
I also wanted to add that when she almost broke was the reason she worked her ass off during (2009-2013) by releasing a new album every year during that time and constantly being on tour from 2007-2013. Also add in promotional appearances on radio and TV, constantly making music videos for each promotional single for every album and a couple or acting roles from Battleship and Bates Motel! Homegirl must have been absolutely exhausted after doing all of that. I wouldn’t blame her if she decides to retire from music and focus on her beauty line that made her a billionaire.

People don't realize that it takes a lot of money to make music videos . It is important to make the mv look good quality with outfits and dances. Making music inside the studio can cost a lot for one single song. In South Korea I've learned that it take a 12 million dollars to create one song. Correct me if im wrong because I saw this in a Korean article that was told by one of the big companies . Idk how much money you need in the us to make one song but it must be more than 3 million dollars because you need the instruments, microphone, effects like echo voice in the background... That's why it's important for artists to do world tours because they get money from the people that come to their concerts . Don't say that she could've saved that money for more things because its not easy to know where to soend the money for a mv

I won't bother asking her "Where's the music?" anymore. I forget how greedy the music industry and entertainment business can be. Everyone deserves to get paid, but sometimes these artists are being exploited and taken advantage of.
