I've been living here since summer of 2019 and I can tell you, there's no place like Croatia. I was in Spain and even though both people and places are a sight for sore eyes, in regards of personal safety they are not so much. But here in Croatia... I will give you a simple example of the level of safety here: I went to a cafe to work on my laptop, and went to the bathroom and left everything on the table (laptop, phone, bag) and I found everything as I left it. This is something that in Spain would never be possible. So yes, Croatia is extremely safe, save for nature, stupid tourists and impatient drivers.

Leaving your personal belongings behind is not a proof of a hight safety level, it is only a proof of recklessness.

The roots of my family are in Omiš and Mimice in the Adriatic and both are also very safe villages. The Croatian surnames of my grandmother where Pervan and Kuzmanić and I have a Pervan cousin who keep contact with my father and told him how peaceful and safe it is to live there. Best regards from Patagonia...

Dear Diego, thank you for your comment here, and in English :) those places are really peaceful and safe! And it is great that there is still contact between your family and your Croatian cousin. Do you ever think of coming back to Croatia? Sending you many greetings from Croatia, šaljem ti puno pozdrava iz Hrvatske!

And what do you think, is Croatia safe and what are the most dangerous things here? 😊
@DrNoxin5 жыл бұрын
I agree, traffic is pretty dangerous. I drove the maximum speed of 120 m/p on the highway and other cars were honking and overtaking me. Coastline mountain roads can also be pretty scary to drive.
@CroatianExperiencewithSanda5 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's so true! Just yesterday I was driving where the sign was 50 mph and some people were driving 111 mph.
@frishki5 жыл бұрын
@@DrNoxin Maximum speed limit on the highways is 130 km/h, unless stated otherwise. And if you're driving under that speed limit, you should drive in the right lane.

Nice video! But you didn't talk about unexploded landmines? I know that in some areas, it's something to seriously consider before going trekking.
@CroatianExperiencewithSanda5 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's one think to have in mind too, but it is mostly in some areas around Lika and Slavonia. As long as people don't go trekking off the paths and directly into the wilderness where there are signs and warnings to stay away because of the posibility of landmines, then everything will be ok :)

there is a little unexploded landmines in croatia..but in the forest in the middle on country..and its not turistic place..barely someone lives there..

One more Important thing too! DO NOT even think of going there if you're LGBTQ+ because all Blakan countries im general are homophobic as frick (except for Slovenia, props to them) it might seem to you that you're safe there because the 'law!' is protecting you but you're not. Don't go there, please. The west is kinda more accepting since it's closer to Slovenia (by my perspective, radius around Varaždin and Čakovec is the most accepting compared to other places where I've been and what I've heard from my other pride friends) And if you need more summed up information; by the things I personally saw and took notice of is that the kids which go to the more higher end high-schools (schools where you really gotta study to stay in [medical schools, people which are going for the environmental/food/etc. Technician, pilots, and jobs like that] are gonna be much more supportive and accepting than people who go for for, let's say, builders or hair dressers, etc. Now I'm not trying to say that people who go to high-schools for which you need less studying are always homophobic but by what I've seen it's mostly the way I described it up there) And the coast is much worser, especially around Zadar and Split. If you go there, there is a high chance of you getting beaten up. Croatia is just there to milk tourists off of their money by pricing stuff more if you're not from here, so in general don't go there for a vacation and especially don't go there if you're a part of an LGBTQ+ community as I said. keep care! We are a bit better placed when it comes to other balkan countries., but it is still super bad, and I've already made a decision to pack my stuff and leave this country as soon as I finish school and when I'm out of it, I'm planning to completely forget it exists and finally be peaceful.
