I have a C curve. I used to limit myself everyday thinking that I have scoliosis. But then I realized that's C curve creates a bigger hurdle in my mind than it is in actual life. That moment of realization has changed my life. I am capable and my body is way more capable than what I think I can achieve. Your scoliosis does not make you curve in, only your mind does. Train your mind and that's how you can expand and overcome... take control!!!

I was 13 when got to know that I have scoliosis. I had to go through an 8- hour long surgery and 4 months to recover/ walk properly. My spinal cord was straightened but my back still has bump. I used to hate it. but now at the age of 20, I've learnt to accept and appreciate my body. i am proud of how perfectly it functions even after going through so much. Scars are not reminders of what’s been broken, but rather of what’s been created.

Get a second opinion, I went to the same doctor for over a year every 3 months. He said “nothing can be done for you”, or “you’re curve isn’t severe enough for you to have surgery” and “you’re done growing your curve isn’t going to get worse”. That wasn’t the case. I had a 32° curve when I was seeing him, I got a second opinion, the doctor said the same thing, that nothing could be done. Then my grandmother gave it one last chance, I wasn’t happy; I didn’t want to go to the appointment. I made my mind up that I was just going to hear the same thing that the other doctors told me all over again. Once again not the case. See, when I got to the doctors office I got undressed took the x-rays like I always do, I sat in the room waiting for the doctor. I wasn’t expecting anything from this visit, except another let down. The doctor walked in and greeted me, joked with me, and really had an in depth conversation with me. Not my grandmother, me the person with the problem. He examined my back, he laid me on the table and moved my legs around to see the mobility I had in them. The other two doctors I had went to before had never done these things. I was in a way, shocked. He told me that my curve had progressed to 49°. How in 3 months could my curve go from 32° to 49°? Because the two previous doctors didn’t know what they were talking about. I am now getting my surgery scheduled and happy because now I can look forward to being a better version of myself, a straighter more confident version of myself. I know that everyone is different but I hope this will have helped you. My NEW doctors name is Ryan P Farmer, of Lafayette Louisiana. This is a doctor I do not recommend: Gabriel Dersam, of lafayette Louisiana

Im 17 turning 18, I was diagnosed with mild dextroscoliosis 2 years ago (20° s-shaped curve), a month before lockdown. Just had my checkup again yesterday and the doctor's first impression on my curve is 35° so he recommended surgery right away. But upon double checking with some sort of program they use, my curve was confirmed to actually just progressed to 22°, no surgeries to be done nor medications to take. Ngl I was looking forward for the surgery despite my family being against it because I was having right shoulder pains and constant uncomfortable back, but now I was more than disappointed when the doctor told me that my bones are maturing and will probably not progress much in the future. I thought: "does it mean I'll be living with this pain and discomfort my whole life?" Well, turns out, not if you have the resolve. My doctor recommended that I exercise, particularly ab workouts. The first exercise had been hard and caused my whole body to be sore, and it still is until today. But I assure you I have more mobility and less pain and less discomfort right now than the past 2 years I've sat idly.

Since I was a kid, I dreamt to be in the military service, I planned all I wanted to happen in the future. The time has come last year when I applied for my first step to military, but I failed. I thought I'm gonna pass it because I believe too much. I am 19 now, and I'm diagnosed with dextroscoliosis in the thoracic spine when I was 18; the time I applied for my dream job, then I failed because I have scoliosis. I didn't know I have it since I noticed a symptom since I was 14. I got depressed and feel frustrated for myself, and got my parents another disappointment. My back hurts a lot, I always cry laying in my bed before I sleep, because that is only the time I got comfortable. I always think, what am I about to do now, that my dream wasn't the one I got, just because I have this abnormal condition. But instead, I just accepted it and love my curves when I knew that I am not the only one hurting 🥺 Now, I took Psychology instead of continuing what i dreamt since then. It's frustrating but maybe this is where my fate is, and I just accepted it, and continue to move forward. Then I saw this and it really inspired me, I cried a lot remembering what I've gone through. I hope I can still straighten this up. I'm still hoping and continuing to move forward, even if it hurts always🥺 I hope we get all the love we deserve as we have this curves inside us. I hope we will keep on moving forward 🥺❤️

@@jazmineisip5930 hello, last year October, I consulted a orthopedic, they said that my back curves were on moderate condition.
