I really hope after the final arc finishes and we learn everything about the story, we get one final chapter with the biggest party we've ever seen. We get one page for every Straw Hat, sort of like Oda does, their title "Pirate King," "Strongest Swordsman,"...etc, their journey, and how funny and stupid they look while partying. Then at the end of that chapter, we get one last page sort of like a massive version of Volume 1 or Volume 61 where Luffy is jumping and the Straw Hats are around him and he's yelling "Let's set sail!"

The end of Arlong Park is also a microcom of the world Laughing after the dawn. Symbolically, Luffy placing his hat on Nami's head looked like the sun rising. And Nami's bright smile at the end was like the sun finally shining. It's no coincidence that during those flashbacks we saw Nami working at her desk with the moon in the background. Her losing her smile symbolized the long night. In Skypea Enel's final attack literally blocked the sun before Luffy cleared the sky, bringing the sunlight back. And then there's the interesting juxtaposition between Enel, God who wished to rule the endless earth, and Luffy, King of the majestic oceans below. Skypiea is so jam packed with symbolism.

I always thought that skypiea was one of the most important arcs even in my first read and watch of the series. so many of my friends skipped it and I always told them that we needed to watch it together but they only started believing me when zouneisha and the minks came around. I always loved the idea of luffy bringing down a selfproclaimed god (Imu-Sama) to unite the world and all it's inhabitants with a massive party where all could laugh together

I think it's a Sake cup big enough for a giant, it's a set up for a sakazuki exchange of sake cups. It's a Sake cup so big that metaphorically the whole world can drink from it and become brothers, like Luffy and Ace and Sabo coming together from their different backgrounds. Sake cups also come in sets, like a three piece, or a four piece sake cup set- so the biggest sake cup ever, that every one would drink from to become brothers- would be a One Piece set.

I like your theory and your videos, but I must disagree with you on one thing. War unfortunately does not stifle technological progress but often puts it on overdrive, as fight of survival requires adjacent parties to compete against each other in ingenuity. It is no suprise that greatest technological advancements have been made (in our world) in regions plagued by war and during times of conflict. In our world, space program was kick-started after second world war, and both sides, USA and Soviet Union, massively benefited from knowhow of german rocket scientists, that otherwise would have been treated as war criminals. Not to mention all other applicable Nazi research. Both in First and in Second World War, conflict has been prime ingredient in forcing technology to progress, be it with flight, radar or ship-building. Things like internet or mobile phones were meant for military use at first, before becoming staples of our current age.

I think it's pretty obvious from their names that they have something to do with the moon, could they be the remnant of the moon people, i.e. those that did not originally fly to the moon and instead chose to remain on the highest peaks of the world (Red Line)? About different species of humanoids in one piece, it is like Darwin finding Galapagos Islands. Same species, which are living on different islands, come with different attributes like bird's beaks. And what do you know, One Piece world have lots of islands. Maybe, history of Darwin inspired Oda to build a world like that and ultimately creating so many different humanoid species.

well, it was not so good as i hope, to be honest. It`s logical, that you see a big party as a solution of everything, but it`s also kind of lazy. Because "Luffy makes a party" not seems like it`s a solid solution for the 400-years war. Because it wasn`t just a party: it leads to inherited will and stuff like that (for some reasons, no single word about it). Maybe you will mention that in the next episode, but it`s seems strange (in that way) that secret of the moon is not the 3 episode) and i can`t say that I satisfied with explanation of moon role in the story, because Moon has some strange effects on Minks, which is really important (and that`s why moon is more than just a promised land for sky-people). Btw kind of disappointed that you say nothing about Nika, as lead-picture of video promise. And i just don't get how you can ignore Lunarian. But what worries me for most is that for now i can`t feeling a 5-years research of OP history. But! You did a big job anyway, so i think we all need to wait for the end of your theory, and only after that said something about "logical holes". Also, excellent explanation of culture difference between skypeople depends on earth as source. Never though about that, but now it's seems almost obvious. Most of this episode is mostly setting up ideas for future episodes, so in a sense it's the least self-contained one since it's mostly about setting up things that will be important later, but I can see how that may make it harder to get through at first. Things like the history of racism may seem redundant now, but will be very important in future episodes, and especially the idea of a party will become more important the deeper we dive in. Even beyond that, I think that my theory differs in the fact that it isn't incredibly outlandish and hard to believe, but more rooted in logic and the narrative themes of the story. So maybe it won't be a mind-blowing shocker, but might still make a lot of sense and seem very satisfying by the end. But admittedly, that's for everyone to judge by the time the final episode comes out! The absence of Nika and the Lunarians was due to the fact that I finished this episode back in May, before either were even mentioned in the manga, so unfortunately there was no way I could mention them here. Nika's presence in the thumbnail is mostly to connect him to Luffy's own silhouette at partying at the end of Skypiea, which I think simply depicts that Nika himself is depicted as someone who is partying

@@soundcheck9457 I love how well constructed your criticism is. He however explained that while Luffy's dream is to get the One Piece - becoming the king of Pirates, the main reason he wants to achieve that dream is so he can have a massive worldwide party.

@@dauntlessRx thank you. And pls don't get me wrong: the idea of One Piece as a grand party is exactly what fascinated me in previous theory. It suits so well for Luffy (and Oda brains perhaps haha). In a good way It's simplistic and funny idea, i really love it (and that's theory defiantly become my favorite of all, even without including game of words and other writing skills that Oda like to use). Well, except the fact (as Oda once say) that One Piece is a material object, which mean: 1. It can't be party itself, but something (Binks sake, for example) that bring that opportunity. 2. I wonder what Arthur can suggest about what if someone bad found One Piece? Kaido or Teach for exmpl. Can he use it? Can he/she use it? And if it so, thn how? Maybe it's just the one point that need to exploration, but still it`s a great idea, really dive into it! For me, idea of One Piece s a party just need some more details (like inherited will etc.) when we talk about history of the world. Because it`s not as simple as Luffy mind.
