@@maruko8324 here's my opinion: the smile devil fruit erases people's emotions by only making people laugh when evoking emotions. This ties to joyboy's will because perhaps his will is to make everyone laugh. That's why Kaido made the smile devil fruit. Also, we can connect that to the will of D and D is the "smile" that all the D's make before they die. It's a smile that their will and dreams will be inherited for the future generations.

My theory why no one reach Laugh Tale is because Wano shut it's borders, you need the road ponegliffs to get there. Additionally, Ohara was a place where people understood the language but they were wiped out In short, no one had all the direction or information to get there, there is something truly specific that needs to be done. If you look the maps that Oda has drew so far, you'll notice that all the paths finish in one island before pointing to Lodestar, there's a theory about that island being Elbaf, the reason no one could have reached Lodestar but Roger is because the Log Pose needs to be a long time there, (more than the average life of a human in the OP world, making a parallelism with Little Garden) and the only way to obtain an already charge one from the giants, is by completing a series of challenges to gaing the respet of the people there (sorry from my english).

The translations I've read all have Luffy and Rodger saying "I want to be...". I know Rodger couldn't have said king of the pirates since it wasn't a thing yet but you can't be a party. I still think the world party could happen but I think they said something else. What that is, I don't know.

47:10 - this is the first time I connected the smile fruits with Kaido and the whole story. Until now, they always seemed random to me. Kaido wanted the smile fruits, because he knows exactly what he is supposed to do as Joyboy, BUT he simply CAN'T do it because he IS NOT Joyboy. He is trying to do what Joyboy is supposed to do, but WITH FORCE not VOLUNTARILY through spontaneous JOY. No one should reach that island aside from SHP or the title of The Pirate King will be ambiguous.. The Great War will be happen in an island non other than ELBAF !! Being a translator for One Piece seems like such a huge undertaking, it's chock-full of english and japanese wordplays that are actually relevant to the story and they have to adapt them while blindfolded since terms can change meaning down the line (Raftel turning out to be Laugh Tale or D. standing for Dawn). I don't even want to think about what languages other than english have to put up with in their translations.

I don't see blackbeard as the final villain because defeating him accomplishes nothing, he's just the final rival in my opinion. Based on how One Piece arcs are structured and how the overall series pictures Imu as a villain, i am fully expecting him to be the real final boss and the human figure of the world goverment for Luffy to defeat, as defeating him marks the end of 800+ years of night for the world, and the arrival at the dawn.

Depending on how such a colossal party is executed it could very well be the greatest thing in One Piece. For example: imagine every single person Luffy ever befriended are present. The merriment is greater than anything else we've seen in the series. Luffy is seated surrounded by all his friends, eating and laughing like he usually does during parties, however he suddenly has a feeling of complete contentment. Then as everyone parties around him and Binks Sake is playing Luffy smiles as he breathes his last. This is just my idea of how the party could be and thinking about it made me cry. How in the hell would a party like that NOT be impactful ??

@@ReiseLukas firstly parties have been occurring at the end of arcs when the tyrant has been defeated and the people Luffy befriended have been liberated and it’s all happened organically. It would seem a bit contrived to me to put it that any such celebratory events were the objective ahead of time in any of the arcs that have already happened. And I view this theory as a larger scale version of that because instead of saying it’s that Luffy and Roger’s whole objective behind their adventures of each arc was to just end it with a party it’s essentially saying the point of the entire epic journey was to have a larger scale version of something that happened organically after every single arc where they defeat a tyrant and liberate people. I’ll put it this way, let’s say hypothetically we’re 5-10 years in the future and one piece is at its conclusion Blackbeard has had his ass kicked and the world government has been exposed and crushed by Luffy and his allies, the mystery of the void century made public and the entire world has been liberated from the iron grip of the biggest tyrant. You would expect a huge party to happen with a heap of familiar faces from all the previous arcs to happen organically whether or not Luffy had made that his goal beforehand. He doesn’t need to have foreshadowed that happening when he was a little kid for it to happen anyway. But as nice a moment as such a thing would be for us the readers, it does beg the question what happens after the party? One day, week, month, year, decade later? It is all well and good to celebrate an epic victory but if the celebration is the objective and nothing more then what’s to stop a new tyrant rising up to fill the power vacuum? Are we to assume the strawhats will be the world police stopping new tyrants as they appear for the rest of their lives? And if yes then what happens when the strawhats are no longer able to go around cracking the skulls of every new tyrant that appears? What I’m trying to say is that I don’t see a huge party as the world changing event that you and others seem to think it will be.

He just killed him because he found it as far as we know.

07:05 Thatch never ate the fruit. He said that he had the RIGHT to eat it. He killed Thatch and stole the fruit for himself BEFORE he could eat it. Blackbeard then ate the fruit himself. The whole point of being on the ship was to FIND the fruit. It doesn't make sense that he'd kill the dude for it to be reborn and then just randomly be lucky enough to find this once in a lifetime fruit AGAIN whilst on the run from the very crew he was on in order to give him a chance to find it.

As a Brazilian myself, I always have been proud of fact that for Oda, if OP was in real life, Luffy would be Brazilian. And what is the first thing that o think about when some one say Brazil? About the One Piece being large cup of Sake for all the people of the world. The only reason why this seems odd to me is that Luffy wouldn't care if he sees sake there. If the World Party of all free peple is the goal of One Piece, which it is, it would make sense for it to be something that is the heart of that party, which could be sake. Something that connects people. But still, for Luffy meat is much more important and would make him more happy. Ok, so could it be the ingredients of the party like Sake and meat, and all other foods and drinks. It still seems like it is not it, because all of that (no matter how good that sake or food are) it can be found elsewhere, why wouldn't all the free people after the destruction of the Grand Line and Red Line bring their own cultures foods and drinks, wouldn't that make a party richer? I do think it is something funny like sake and food and drinks, something that connects people. But I find something lacking in that. Maybe 'cus I don't find Sake as universal to all the characters in OP and 'cus you can find large amounts of Sake anywhere in the world. And the explanation that maybe it's the best in the world 'cus it brewed so long, I don't find convincing. Does it really matter how good it is? Is the difference between some random cup of sake from Makino's bar and THE ONE PIECE is just quality and quantity?!? I don't have any better theory unfortunately, and this one is somewhat good, but it has flaws I think. Is there anything else that connects people from all over the world and brings them joy? We'll have to think about it.

Blackbeard probably would have avoided killing Thatch if possible. That would have been (and was actually) a nuisance. But Thatch had already eaten the fruit, so Blackbeard had to kill him to recover it. This also confirms he doesn't need the Yami Yami to do it.

That's part of the speculation, but my belief is that Thatch had eaten the fruit so Blackbeard had to kill him. Teach stated that there was no other way, so I feel that implies Thatch had eaten the fruit and Blackbeard needed to kill him to obtain it, much like he did with Whitebeard

Just thought about this, but what if the incident that the grand fleet causes is them attacking Mariejois? Presumably whatever happened to Sabo was in the newspapers. The grand fleet knows Sabo is Luffy’s big brother, but Luffy and co are busy in wano. Maybe during the wano arc, the grand fleet goes up and attacks Mariejois to save their boss’s brother Sabo
