That is a good idea, not just the first pirate king but also the first pirate ever. Maybe those with the D are actually descendents from the members of that original crew. If they were know as the Dawn pirates (just an example) maybe they decided to keep the D on their names as a sign of friendship, of nakamas. That could explain why people of different races can have the D as well, like Jaguar D Saul.

Side note: Why did Luffy put his hat away during his 2-year-training? If the hat (seen from above) represents the sun which symbolises freedom, he was ready to sacrifice 2 years of his own freedom - you could say his freedom to move anywhere he wanted - to continue his dream later.

I call it here and now: the will of D is the Will of „Dreams“. For years I was one of the Dawn believers but this changed drastically as I dove deeper into it, taking into consideration that Blackbeard and Xebec are also D‘s and I am pretty sure they weren’t meant to bring any Dawn to the world. If the middle name D stands for anything it has to be something that all of them have in common. So in conclusion the only logical meaning is „Dream“ given that it fits perfectly with Teach and Xebec as well. Just think about Teach‘s inspiring speech on Gaya and the fact that Xebec literally got into an all out war against the world government to pursue his dream of being king of the world. Nothing makes more sense than the D meaning Dream.

As a brazilian, I'm not a native of the English language, I've never studied it either, but here are some thoughts: Joy Boy = creator of the Jolly Roger concept (why isn't anyone here talking about these two things together?) In real life, Jolly Rogers was (theoretically) based on the concept of the United Kingdom flag. The United Kingdom does not exist in One Piece World, but there was a "Great Kingdom". Also, take a look at the UK flag now and think of One Piece World. You can see? Do we have something there or am I going crazy? PS: After this video, I can understand why Luffy is Brazilian. We have all ethnicities here, scattered and mixed in large crowds. I believe I've never been at a party where everyone has the same ethnicity and I don't even know where my ancestors came from.

So Joy Boy was a great figure 800 hundred years ago who trevled the entire world seeking to start a grand adventure that was probably looked upon as something impossible due to the politics at the time. He met all kind of races and and befriended many of those races,he was the freest person in the world but unfortunately with traveling and discovering the entire world he saw what atrocities committed by those who were in power at that time (The pre -world government). Wanting to change the entire world and unite it as one with no boundry or oppression He established the great kingdom(it probably got that name from the ruling government of those time that sew them as enemies). I guess Joy boy was the one or was helped by his comrades to create the 3 ancient weapons,the noah ark and maybe other things that will help him accomplish his goal but things couldn't go according to plan and in the end Joy boy died and wasn't able to accomplish his promise to his friends and comrades but he knew that as long as someone will be born one day with the same will and ideals as him than his promise to the world will be fulfilled one day. Now roger was probably the one who inherited Joy boy's dream and will and was able to experience the entire adventures that Joy Boy has as well,but unfortunately while he had the potential he came too early as the missing pieces were still not ready to accomplish Joy boy's dream ,roger was dying so he couldn't carry on Joy Boy's dream but roger like Joy Boy knew that as long someone who shares the same will and their dreams their goal will be fulfilled one day. Roger died with a smile while telling the world about the one piece knowing that when the promised day will happen the entire world will share that smile as well and Joy Boy's dream will be fulfilled. Luffy is the one person Joy Boy and roger have waited for and by traveling and discovering everything the world has to offer and will seek to break the chains that held the entire world for so long by using all the pieces that he found over his adventures,coming to the red line and the world governments territory and will destroy the entire red line and thus destroy fishman island(thus fulfilling the prophecy that he will destroy fishmen island)and bring them to the surface and by effect also uniting all the four oceans of the world creating a new world witout boundris and a world of endless dreams. Luffy will be the one to accomplish their dream of absolut freedom and bring the entire world together under the same sun.

By the end of the video, when the World Government flag was shown, I realized something that I hadn't before: the flag symbolizes the location of the one piece. There are five circles on the flag, four of which are perpendicular to each other from the center, where the last circle is. The four circles that encompass the center circle all draw a line towards the center, but why? Is it because there are five elder stars? Is it because of the four seas and Imu in the center? This could be true, but I don't think so. I think these circles represent the four road poneglyphs and the one piece. The four circles on the outside, of course, are the four road poneglyphs that can be found throughout the grand line. The circle in the center is the one piece. However, all that needs to be done is remove the silencer of that freedom, or the world government. This brings me to another conclusion: the four circles represent the three weapons and Luffy, and they will all go against the world government to eliminate it at the same time. The reason the lines all direct toward the center is because of these four threats that are linked with the world government, and since the world government is responsible for silencing the freedom of humanity, they are at the center. This is where the one piece is. The ultimate party. World Government? More like World Freedom.

Poseidon = god of the SEA = Mermaid = SEA kings Pluton = God of the underworld aka the LAND = human = giant elephant = land creature, LAND king Uranus = god of the SKY = winged person (movie RED poster girl maybe) = command flying creatures like dragons = SKY kings Fishman Island and Wano were two confirmed allies, Shirahoshi and Momo both shared the SAME "POWER TO COMMAND" so it's only logical for the Ancient Kingdom to bestow each ally a "weapon", and if the skyfolk were also allies, that completes the trilogy. Sorry, not good at all. Everything you say so obvious and on a surface. It's like you want to reach fishman island, but forgot to worry about that resin across the ship. I think the great kingdom was part of the allaiance with the current World goverment(Celistial dragons) fighting against the previous gods (Lunarians). They won the war against the lunarians, but then had a dispute, the great kingdom wanted to change the way world was but the Celestial Dragons wanted to replace the previous gods and become the new gods (thats why they live on top of grand line the same place where Lunarians were living). Eventually the great Kingdome lost and was errased from history. If IMU is immortal, he must have been a friend of JoyBoy.

I think we are crediting joyboy with too much intent. This story about a man with lofty dreams of freeing everyone and failing... well, it's just not funny. And, as we know, joyboy's tale is hilarious. I think joyboy accidentally stumbled into his role similar to luffy. I dont think he cared so much about freeing everyone, rather, I think he just inherited the will of all the friends he made. Meaning, the will of D is not just the will of joyboy or a particular clan or something, but the will of D is the collective will of all nations who opposed the world government. I recently saw a theory that Oars 1 (who came before moria's oars) was joyboy. One of the things I like about this theory is that it opens up the possibility for some really wacky stuff. Like, what if Oars was blackout drunk, partying and kicking ass, for an entire century? And then he woke up a hundred years later, nursing a hangover, and he learns about all these drunken promises he made and stuff while blacked out? To be clear, I'm not saying I necessarily believe the oars theory. Personally, I just need joyboy theories to open up the possibility for funny stories for the theory to work. So, I hope you've got a funny story tucked away for us!

It's the same with Luffy. He is not intentionally started this journey to help and free the people from their oppressors. He had his ideals and dreams and wanted to fulfill them somehow. But unconsciously he is freeing and uniting people all over the world. He will be given the title joyboy because of that. I think the same think happened with the actual joyboy. Then when he saw his freedom and the freedom of his Nakama ( nations throughout the world) was under the threat of the world government he tried to send poneglyph and spread the concept of freedom to all the his nations to be passed down the generations. This way his WILL will be inherited and somebody in the future can take over and compete the task.

I get your point, but I think there's a critical misunderstanding there: you're assuming that what is found at Laugh Tale is a "funny" story, but that is never specified; all we know is that it's, as was put, a "laugh tale", a story that brings people laughter when heard. Laughter can admittedly be brought by humor, but that is not the only reason for it, as laughter can also be brought by something like... joy. So that laughter may not be induced by something being funny, but by some joy that Joy Boy is trying to convey. At the very least, we can't tell for sure
