I just love doing cardio and calisthenics. Running, rucking, burpees. Looove that. Good to know I don't need to be insanely strong and be a jacked lifter.

18 pull ups, 80 push ups, 14 minute 2 mile. 245 PR bench, 380 deadlift PR, never rucked a day in my life. Suggestions?
@InfiniteGrit20 күн бұрын
@@juliomonz1524 solid numbers man! I’d hit strength 3x per week, focus on getting that run closer to the 13 mark and start getting some walking only rucks in to build up that conditioning.
@erikmielke9008Ай бұрын
Honestly, if you can do pistol squats, you have a good squat and deadlift, a good clean, snatch, front squat and overhead squat, running and rucking become very easy, you just need cardiovascular fitness and that is easier to develop than strength or muscular endurance.

Pushups 65 normal 61 T pushup in 2 minutes. 15 palms facing you chin ups. 2:38 12 mile ruck 1:40 8 mile ruck. Both with ranger shuffle. I am aware you asked for 6 mile times…. Besides a 1:38 no running one that i did last week, i haven’t done it for time in over a year. So i missed my mark give 1-2 minutes waiting for traffic. Might as well add acft score. Age 27 DL 330. SPT 9.3. TPU61. SDC 1min38sec. Plank 3min 45 sec 2 mile was 16:00. Normal 2 mile is around 13:30-14 depending.

@skillmaster119 hey man, don't waste your time in SOPC. It's not all that it's hyped up to be. The reason Xrays are more fit on average is because they joined the Army with a very specific goal in mind. SOPC only polishes that. The biggest benefit is the G-2 you'll get. ACFT isn't a thing at SFAS. Best advice I ever heard and I'll pass it along. "Be as strong as possible while being able to max (or close to max) the pt test " Work on grip stregnth. You'll need it. These numbers will hey you in the top 50- 25% 2mi. Run. Sub 13:30 5mi. Run. Sub 36:00 12mi. Ruck Sub 2:30 Pullups 15 reps Pushups 60 reps Be as big and strong as possible while striving to hit those marks and you'll crush it. As long as you're not a p***y

Great info! A few questions if you have the time. Getting national guard 18x with medical and age waivers? any tips? is it possible to get an actual contract to sfas? Also, what is the oldest GB to go through combat dive school? is there an age limit? thanks
@InfiniteGritАй бұрын
Appreciate the feedback, man! A lot of guys get both medical and age waivers. I went through the Q with a guy that was 43 at the time and many guys in their late 30's so it's definitely possible. The biggest thing I'd say with getting waivers is don't take the first no at face value. Sometimes (not always), you can get a recruiter that simply says no to things because they don't want to put in the leg work. If you get a no, get a second opinion or be the squeaky wheel before calling it a day. I'm honestly not sure about the dive school question, but there are a lot of GBs in regiment in their late 30s and 40s so I wouldn't be surprised if guys in their 40s have crushed dive school

If I had to choose a man to enter any SOF selection course, and there were only two types of athletes, ultra-runner and powerlifter, I would go with the ultra runner. Strength to weight ratio is the key, not overall horse power. Selection is a continuous grind, hour after hour, day after day. If you have a deep endurance base, and can do lots of pullups and pushups, you are gold. Not rocket science fellas. Be able to go for hours on your feet, do at least 15-20 pull ups. Ever know anybody who could do a sh!t load of pull ups and wasn't a stud?

Have you considered making an actual SFAS program for people who can’t afford the coaching?
@InfiniteGritАй бұрын
We do have the free 90 day program which I encourage guys to use as a template and adjust the mileage/strength based on where they're at and what they need to focus on. We're also working on a group coaching option where'd we'd assign one of our 10 programs based on current level, injuries, equipment access, and also have the opportunity to hop on the live calls each week to address any questions

Any tips on getting better at T-push ups besides just, doing T push ups? I'm great at everything else lol
@InfiniteGritАй бұрын
Yeah man we typically want to vary the stimulus throughout the week. This can look like doing 2 “strength” focused push up sessions where you’re doing different variations (wide, diamond, archer, etc.), then endurance focused sessions where you’re going more for reps or time. 3-4 sessions per week with your normal strength training, quality nutrition and recovery and you should be seeing those numbers go up. Don’t just do this perpetually but have a week every 4-5 weeks where you taper off volume and intensity (usually around 50-60%) so you can recover and continue making progress

I went through when it was SFOT, and I know that was decades ago, but it was more mental than physical for most guys, it came down to how bad did you want to be there and did you want to succeed.
