Although kratos has incredible feats the writer Corey borelog already explained the concept of realms in God of war. Each culture or land in the god of war earth has its own philosophy and mythology of deities it has in the same earth. So unfortunately kratos is not truly multiversal. He just seems multiversal because of realms he's in. He's actually planetary not even solar system feat wise. Why? Because he's bound to the boundaries of each realm. That's not multiversal that's basically city level or planetary. I understand he has amazing feats but that doesn't measure to true multiversal level. The only thing kratos can do is fight other high speed gods. But that's necessarily complexed unless we mention the sisters of fate.. kratos can't create pocket dimensions, he use to could do that as the new God of war but he lost that magic permanently, he can't create planets or solar systems or even teleport to space. I'm saying the actual space of God of war not him exploring space in their proper domain and culture. Kratos can't jump anymore, he can't fly. I'm going to to lay out common sense flaws here. Kratos is supposed to be the god of strength. There should be no reason why he can't move mjnoir out of orbit effortlessly without the blades of chaos. In both fights we see kratos struggling against it's will of Thor commanding it back. This is a major plot hole. By the writers saying he's not a Norse god is absolute foolish statement. Kratos yields leviathan axe and he's not Norse, he can weld Odins original spear and he's not Norse. Kratos flipped tyrs temple like it was a toy and he can't move mjnoir, but Odin can? Undeniable plot whole. In the books and lores it said the blades of chaos cannot leave kratos site. Each time he misplaces or throw them away they keep returning, well unfortunately the game lifted that curse and we see the blades of chaos stay where he puts it. What's the significance of kratos fighting his wife if we all we see is flashbacks of her being a kind wife instead being the savage warrior queen that stalemated two fights with Thor and her husband? Last but not least It is confirmed by Corey borelog that old kratos is stronger than younger kratos. It is also confirmed by borelog The Norse gods are more powerful than Greeks😅. I'm sorry two grey lines in his statement. If it's a 1 on 1 brawl without magic or weapons, sure Old kratos is about to tear young kratos up if he has to unleash his rage. Now on the flip note, if we are Talkin about God of war 2 kratos with Ares powers plus the blade of Olympus absolutely not! One must also keep in mind that Kratos is a fallen god and as powerful as he was and is ever since, its not his true full potential which is insanely powerful as an full God of Olympus. He had trancendency beyond the GoW universe and could see visions of WW2 etc, his favour could make Spartan armies invincible, he had the power of Ares. If he was in this form in Ragnarök, wielding Blade of Olympus in a giant form he could crack Asgard open just like Surtr.

You realize that Cory Barlog himself confirmed that Ragnarok Kratos is stronger than GoW 3 kratos. The only reason we don't see him go all out ever in the newer games is because he is holding back all the time. The only times you can see him really trying is when he flips literally every realm in 2018. He wants to get Aetreus his training and he can't learn if Kratos 1 shots everything. He even holds back against almost every character because he has changed. He doesn't want to hurt Mimir. He doesn't want to cause unneccassary Collateral dmg. Why the hell would he go to that length? He was fueled by rage and was completely unhinged in the gow 1-3, he is more controlled and wise in 2018 and ragnörok so he doesn’t need to cause unnecessary damage. And even when he isn’t doing that did you see the Thor and kratos fight scene…they broke a shard of the Yggdrasil which may I remind you, transcends space and time. He fought a guy that could knock the world serpent back in time with raw strength (and mjolnir which still requires raw deity level strength) so if he wanted to split Asgard in half I’m pretty sure he could do it. Well that ability is never given to us, not even in Ragnarok. It’s strange but it’s plausible as to why. 1. He’s holding back loads 2. The game would become very boring very quick. Also when Kratos stopped Atlas from crushing him, he used his legs and arms. same with cronos clap. Meaning he has very powerful legs.. but idk whether this strength correlates to speed tbh.. i mean Kratos is still very fast, he caught up to heimdall with his fists. the guy who can see everything you’re doing in your mind before it happens. Kratos was able to break Heimdall’s prediction. He also was able to lift Mojnir with his blades of chaos and wrangle it around to hit Thor, we’ve already seen him try to hold it with his brute strength but he could only stop it, so i don’t think this is a strength feat, more of a speed feat. at the end of that same fight Kratos did stop an overhead swing from Mojnir and a bloodlusted Thor’s force behind it. so i think that’s a strength feat, so idk whether Kratos just magically got stronger through the fight bc before he couldn’t even lift it.

it is not so much as he is stronger or faster than his opponent, it is more like he is simply the greater warrior. I would argue that hercules was actually physically stronger than kratos but his own arrogance led to his own defeat not a lack of strength. kratos while rage incarnate, was patient and cunning. he let his opponent flaunt their advantage and underestimate him, then used the opening the left and won. he teaches atreus this throughout their journey. not an overreliance on ability, nor arrogance in one's skill, but the opportunistic approach to a fight. against hermes and even a time stopper, they all had to leave their advantage that allowed them to avoid death to come in close to attempt their attack on kratos. if they really wanted to survive, they would have run away. against heimdall, he let his mind get clouded by kratos taking the upper hand by catching him by surprise. essentially, he makes his opponent leave their arena and come to his arena when they hold an advantage in speed or strength. he uses their own flawed personality against them. I suspect that the only reason kratos was foretold to lose against thor was because it was predicted that he would continue fighting an internal conflict against himself during the final fight. the turning point was when he told atreus to open his heart to people's suffering. in that moment, he left behind the conflict within. prior to that, he was on track to close his heart to other's. he won against thor because he was calm and not in conflict within himself. he wasn't subconsciously fighting against his own rage in an attempt to stop the monster while also actively trying to unleash the monster within. he embraced all facets of himself when he told atreus to open his heart to it. so the entire fight he was basically calm and using thor's rage against himself. he was basically on ultrainstinct mode instead of relying on super saiyan. it is like when he unlocked the flame of hope versus, he was no longer trapping the power within with his guilt and anger. it was just anger. his true power was stopped by his own internal conflict. even if he tried to become the monster he once was. it was the wrong way to try to unlock his power.

I dont think Kratos was overall more powerful than the major olympian gods(unless you count the power of hope), its just that you dont have to be more emminent or powerful than your opponent to best them. Kratos’ resolve was so immense, that not even death could stop him. It is very difficult to defeat someone that doggedly determined. At the very least, he was definitely not more powerful than Zeus. I think zeus was toying with him, and his astral form was his full power which he beckoned adter becoming very irritated with Kratos. Without the power of hope, it appears that Astral Zeus would have quickly overwhelmed and killed him.

Why would he toy with him? Kratos angered Zeus more than anyone and killed many gods to get to him, including his closest and dearest, not to mention he's prophesied to bring destruction to all Olympus, so he's the last individual Zeus would hold back on. The astral projection only appeared when Zeus laid dying, it's a representation of his greatest fear and was bested by an even greater power in hope. Zeus was afflicted with fear so great that the evils released from Pandora's Box strengthened it and gave it form, only hope can be victorious against fear which was the concept. So the astral projection was an outer body power just like hope, it's not something Zeus could call on whenever he wanted.

@@ThePanther97 We don’t actual know if he cant call on his astral capabilities at will. He seemed to know exactly what was going on when he said “let the fear inside kratos”, where as kratos seemed quite perplexed when the power of hope manifested itself. As for Zeus not trying his hardest, I think Zeus literally folding his arms and laughing as Kratos attacks him inside of Gaia is pretty damn telling. Not to mention that even after all the punishment he went through, he was able to overpower Kratos in astral form with little to no resistance. Doesn’t seem like the force of a dying god to me. “I grow weary of you my son”= my translation ( alright kiddo, Im tired of playing around now). Also, Zeus has shown himself to be supremely arrogant (rightfully so).

@@sagearmaggedon7307 Yeah he did say such things, but the astral projection only appeared when he laid lifeless and nothing in the lore ever mentions him using it before, especially before Kratos first opened the box, so there's no solid proof he could call on it at will. But you are right in the fact that Zeus is very arrogant and he clearly underestimated Kratos, he thought himself greatly superior and didn't expect Kratos to get that far. Now as for his astral projection it clearly contained his consciousness and he tried to instill fear in Kratos which was it's job, it is the embodiment and the power of fear itself and only hope is strong enough to surpass fear so that's the concept. Without hope, Zeus's fear is the greatest power in the whole universe and it's what caused him to do all the things he did to Kratos and his family. His earlier arrogance got the better of him, and that last fight inside Gaia's chest shows him struggling greatly to hit Kratos with the Blade of Olympus and he was eventually overpowered and beaten. Early in the fight he was underestimating and not going all out but the fight inside Gaia's chest definitely shows him really trying, he even repeatedly tries to heal himself by using Gaia's heart.

Firstly “needed an amulet” didn’t play ascension alert. “Couldn’t keep up with Hermes” Hermes dodges Helios light after he was injured and Kratos in the same fight catches him in the air before he can attack him so didn’t play God of War 3. The “ferries” Kratos killed 2 two of them with his blade and 1 with his bare hands but yeah sure only the amulet could kill them. Kratos straight up killed and overpowered one of them and made him kill himself so another cap. of course? He was a DemiGod at this point he can’t just kill Gods that’s the whole point of God of War 1 and chains of Olympus and ascension are prequels BRUH. no the only way was Pandora’s box and the power of hope was linked to him because of his sheer willpower. pathetic excuse Hercules lost because he’s a demigod while Kratos is a God and that was already mentioned but still doesn’t change the fact that he did all the labours. that is true but Kratos survived getting crushed by him tho he would’ve killed him and also in chains of Olympus when he tried to crush him. no he literally defeated both of them in a 1 vs 1 without using it at all so cap he only needed it to break the dimensional mirrors. pathetic excuse Kratos was far past Cronus at this point like most Gods.
