What a sweetheart. I'm going to get my niece to watch this. She has IBS. I switched to a WFPB diet last year and I feel the best I've ever felt my whole life. I'm 63.

I have Crohn’s. I went on a plant based diet in 2014. Still going strong. My disease has been so much better since eating this way. But I definitely need to stay away from too much processed vegan foods. It causes flare ups from time to time. This is just a warning for anyone in the midst of switching to this lifestyle in order to heal themselves. WFPB (whole food plant based) is always going to work better than junk food vegan. It’s a slippery slope for those of us with food addictions however. Beware, but you are on the right path! 😃✌🏻

I had something similar. I figured out it was eggs that were causing me debilitating IBS. Got rid of those and things got way, way better! I still didn't go vegan though. Fast forward 20 years to about 2 months ago and I was having migraines at least once a week, plus high BP and cholesterol. I finally made the switch to WFPB and in only 2 months my migraine occurrences are cut in half and my cholesterol is down 27% ! Me and my doctor are very happy (thankfully I have a very supportive doc).

Thank you so much for sharing sharing your story with us!😊 As a Certified Vegan/Plant-Based Nutritional Health Coach (...focusing on lifestyle transformation...) I see people everyday who could benefit from a Plant-Based diet but lack people in their lives to guide them down the right path.. It's very powerful when those who have overcome the struggles tell the story to those who may need to hear it in that moment.❤❤❤

Good on you. A plant based diet (and all the fiber that comes with it) has made my morning routine so much more satisfying haha. That alone has been convincing enough for me. When my routine changes and I can only eat out or convenience foods, such as when I travel, it really makes me look forward to getting back to the healthy meals I prepare for myself at home

As someone who was diagnosed six years ago, my advice: not only is a whole foods plant based diet the best one to go for, but you should also watch out for your own personal dietary triggers. Common ones are yeast and gluten, but they could be anything

I dont stay away from anything plant based. In my opinion, one should eat a very varied vegan diet with lots of fruit and whole food plant based is the best, but that works for me, maybe not the same for everyone. Med free .

I have suffered with UC for a long time. I watched Game Changers and decided to go plant based due to the reduced inflation they reported in the documentary. I am 9 months in, still not back to 100% health but I have to say that I have been feeling sooooooooo much better since going plant based. I have found that sauerkraut and Kimchi have also helped, they have to be the unpasteurized versions though. Nearly all the supermarket bought sauerkraut and kimchi are pasteurized so you need to go to a specialist or make your own which is actually pretty easy. Brilliant video, hopefully see more relating to this subject.

Yes this. Vegan is so much easier to your whole digestion system. Im suffering from early ps. cholangitis and my father had colitis. On a vegan diet I experience much milder to no symptoms. Regular meat eating gives me a stomach ache. Living in Japan now, I ended up eating some meat again since the vegan options are scarce. My body is telling me to stop that stuff already. The connection seems obvious.

I don't know where my comment went, but here's a redo. I've been symptom free since my diagnosis of Crohn's 14 years ago. In fact I never had symptoms, perhaps because of my largely wfpb diet. Despite this, according to a recent colonoscopy and CT scan, my disease has progressed and is now severe. My doctor says I need to go on meds or it will progress. Not happy about this and since the news I've become gluten free and fully whole food plant based. Moral of story from this 69 year old woman: IBD is tricky. Plant based is the way to go, but it's important to follow up with appropriate tests. It can progress even without symptoms.

Look into Pam Popper's method of making it go into full remission. Going vegan is step one, going WFPB is step two and committing to no oil (low fat), giving up gluten and the exclusion of trigger foods might be the final step to make it heal. Wishing good luck from another guy with Crohns!

When I was diagnosed with IBS, my doctor at the time told me that I probably shouldn't be vegan and recommended me the FODMAP diet, as if types of dairy and meats were gonna cure my horrible constant pain symptoms lol...anyway, I'd been vegan for 5 years already prior and definitely wasn't gonna let his advice revert that. My IBS turned out to be mental related. I've been working on my stress/mental state and it's basically all gone away. Even if yours isn't mental, don't always assume that a recommended diet by a doctor is going to help, especially if they are not versed in vegan diets, they wouldn't know how to recommend that or even believe it would help, if they themselves are not familiar with it

Thank goodness for Charlie! excess cheese did it for me, didn't have IBS but gall bladder problems. I had naturally just gone off dead flesh anyway so dairy was the last thing to go, very hard for a cheese lover but quite honestly I felt a sense of relief to let go, no more health problems. I'm 70, not on any medication whatsoever. The only problem is a social one, people can be quite vicious when they twig that I'm not only veggie but totally plant based. My oldest friend's remark was 'Oh that's going too far!', and takes a swipe at the subject now and again.

How selfish am I...for deciding to go vegan for my health. I guess I should have just gone ahead and died of heart disease, because my top concern wasn't the welfare of the animals I was conditioned to see as food. Activists can be their own worst enemies. It doesn't matter how people get to a vegan lifestyle, they will learn to appreciate all the benefits during their struggle to regain their health.

@rasputozen2 жыл бұрын
Overall they're better than beef/chicken/pork, dairy and eggs but not as good as WFPB. Learn to cook dried beans and whole grains and grind your own flax/chia seeds for omega3s and you'll feel amazing. Every meal will sit well in your stomach. Then get a b12+d3 supplement and you're good to go.

@@rasputozen Interesting insight thanks do you recommend any Supplement brand or will any do ? Have you had any bad experiences with Supplementation and how natural is a whole plant based diet really if we have to supplement or is it a means to the cause because the alternative is way worse
@rasputozen2 жыл бұрын
@@TsoiIzAlive I personally get the Herbaland b12+d3 but I'm sure there are other good ones. I haven't had any problems with supplementation, actually the opposite, because b12 is hard to get even as an omni (livestock are usually supplemented) a supplement guarantees my b12 and d3 levels are great instead of guessing. A WFPB is as natural as any. The reason we need to supplement b12 is because we now clean our vegetables well and don't drink out of streams (both of which contain the bacteria that creates b12, same way animals in wild get theirs). D3 you don't really need if you work outside a lot. Many of us don't though and so it's nice to supplement. Best wishes.
