You got this from AMC and while DC is pushin one team, Marvel is rolling on their third. Sure most people know Batman and Superman, it doesn't necessarily mean that people are interested in the characters (fans do love Batman tho). Marvel characters are a bit more interesting and Marvel has better stories to tell. The Avengers are easily more popular than the Justice League. DC just keeps jerking off to Batman and he's the only one they care about because he's the one who make the most money. DC doesn't know how to use the rest of their characters.

IF Batman v Superman is good I'd be really happy for them. Man of Steel was not great and the lineup for Batman v Superman is looking bad. Bad color lighting, bad actors: Ben Afleck as Batman? He had his chance to make a similiar character cool and every line he gave hurt. I'm not even a Ben Afleck hater. I've liked plenty of his other movies but he ain't no Superhero. I mean I would give him more chance if he had not already played an actual superhero. I do think it interesting that Superman is the most known Superhero of all time and the first. Man of Steel made 125,000,000 opening weekend which is great but Marvel opened with 95 million with its D-listers. That should say something. I don't read a lot of comics, but I'm knowledgable enough about what's been done with Superman before Man Of Steel was made. I'm not sure which iteration of the comics you are referring to, but I think Man of Steel is not up to par for other reasons besides comic accuracy. Being friends with a comic guru and having experienced Supes through the DC animated shows, I don't think Man of Steel nailed what kind of character Superman is meant to be at all. Superman, as he's often labeled, is something of a Boy Scout. That being said, I don't outright HATE MoS. I just prefer the way Marvel has been doing their movies. They don't pull punches in regards to the stakes in each of their movies, but they always manage to still make it a fun, fulfilling experience. I've seen MoS only once and haven't yet gotten the desire to watch it again. Furthermore, there is never any doubt that the staff at Marvel is having a lot of fun making their movies. Admittedly, DC doesn't show a lot of Behind-The-Scenes material that shows this kind of stuff. But the creative attitudes of David Goyer (writer) and Zack Snyder (director) make me feel like they don't really care the way Marvel does. Take my two cents for what you will, but I have to say I disagree with your opinion.

Truth is they wouldn't fight in the first place. Goku loves the thrill of combat but doesn't fight if the opponent doesn't want to. The more likely thing to happen is Goku eating a lot of noodles while Clark rights a story about a martial artist that consumes more food than a dojo of sumo do in a week, in one sitting and manages to stay hungry and not gain weight.

***** True, but the thing about being a fan is that you have to have a happy medium between flexiblity (the writers vision might not match yours, but that isn't neccesarily a bad thing) and objective (just because it has a superhero you like in it that doesn't by default make it the most amazing film of all time). Many fans struggle with this (As have I), particularly when there is an extroardinary ammount of antagonism between DC and Marvel fans; when I say that the dark knight trilogy is over rated I'm not saying it was bad (Like Rise of the silver surfer X-men 3 or catwoman) but rather that it isn't the cinematic equivelant of the monolith from 2001. And Really, I want DC to have good movies, because their are dozens of interesting characters who haven't been given a fair shake due to the studio's bat boner; batman V superman was supposed to be man of steel 2 but snyder decided to make it about batman and Suicide squad is an amazing concept handicapped by making it about batman. Give me a Booster gold movie. Or red tornado. Or power girl. or Apache chief. Or metamorpho. Or Doctor fate.

I like how defiantly Batman is standing while Superman is looking at him in the SDCC featurette. As superman's eyes light up, I think to myself... wow, that would be it Batman would be toast. Superman doesn't even have to be anywhere near Batman to vaporize him with his heat vision. Aided by his supersight and the ability to change the size and intensity of his heat vision, Superman could vaporize anyone from space. This will be leading up to wonder woman's movie, that's why. Also, this movie is starting the Justice League (Hence the name, Dawn of Justice). My guess if that the whole world begins to hunt the MoS down because of Zod's attack on Metropolis. I'm also guessing that Lex Luther is going to hunt him down and become the main antagonist. For the first hour or so, it'll be Bruce and him fighting. Then, Batman learns the MoS is actually good and then they must take Lex Luthor, who turns out to be the bad guy all along.

Richard Big Okay, in this alternate DC AND Marvel universe .... If Batman was smart enough to know about Kryptonite, and rich enough to own a piece, then there's no question Tony Stark would have some, too. He'd build a "Kryptonian-buster" suit of armor, with K-tipped rounds in his shoulder guns. He'd make Captain America an alternate shield of Kryptonite-Admantium-alloy, and send Thor off to Asgard with a chunk of green K to have it imbedded in Mjolnir. Hawkeye would have green-K-tipped arrows, Natasha would have K-laced bullets. All extremely expensive, but you know Tony would gladly spend the money. As for both Scarlet Witch and Hulk, they can pretty much take care of themselves. So if it''s JUST Superman against ALL the Avengers, Superman loses. You know what _I'd_ like to see, is *Invisible Woman v. Superman.* Srsly, that's a real fight, if you know how insanely powerful Sue Storm Richards really is. How long can Superman go without air? 'Cause Sue has all day to fill his lungs with a force bubble.

The mainstream thought on this movie seems to be that it would be stupid for superman and batman to fight each other. Which it is, and don't bring up the dark knight returns as you shouldn't have to tell people to do research on a movie. Also the dark knight -rises- returns is not canon and should be used to end a batman story not to fucking start it.

The Dark Knight Returns was kinda stupid in it's portrayal of non-Batman characters. Frank Miller REALLY hates Superman, and would probably fellate Batman if he could. He butchered Superman's character in order to make them fight. In terms of their proper characterization, they wouldn't fight unless there were no other options. They're very close friends and usually have the same goals. Why fight? I hope they avoid DKR, to be honest. If it was just Batman, I'd love it. But the way that story did Superman was just all wrong.

Well from Batman's perspective, this super powerful alien, who just kicked the asses of a bunch of other super powerful aliens, is now living among humanity and is potentially a threat. I mean he could lose it someday and Bruce either feels like he needs to be prepared for that day, or he's going to try and put an end to him before it ever comes. Now on the Dark Knight Returns thing, I also hope they don't go that route because it wouldn't make sense in the context of this universe and I personally just don't like the story line.

I can't believe I'm getting myself dragged into this... Okay yes Clark could fly Bruce into space, fry him with his heat vision, punch him into atoms, etc... but the thing is he wouldn't. he would never do that. Every writer that has written his character has established that Superman would never do that to any of his opponents. Bruce has been established as knowing this. The writers of batman and superman comics have also established that one of batman roles in the JLA is to device contingency plans. The kryptonite ring wouldn't do much against Clark, it's supposed to be symbolic of Clark's trust in Bruce. In the Superman comic the third kryptonian, Clark assists Bruce in creating weapons and tools to neutralize all of his kryptonian powers. Bruce literally has an arsenal and a dozen contingencies in place. It all depends on how you define winning a fight. Bruce also has no intention of killing, but he will manipulate Clark into a situation where he either can't win or has to give up. An example would be their battle in the Hush story line. He lies to clark and says he has opened a gas line and if he were to spark his heat vision the daily planet and the whole block would blow up. The writers also have Bruce say the line that if Clark wanted to he could squish him into the cement, but he knows that Clark is deep down a good person and deep down bruce is not. That is why Bruce is able to manipulate and defeat members of the league. He's the worlds greatest manipulator and cheater. If the Superman were a cold blooded killer, Bruce would not stand a chance in a one on one fight. How they are written in the comics, he has a chance.

ShadowHydra dc is definitely behind but i will only critique their universe when they've gotten into the solo films after JL just as i only started to critique the MCU around the release of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. We're in a position now where, if the MCU took the DCCU route, it would be: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and so on. It's so unfair imo to argue about a franchise's critical quality after it's first movie. I didn't hear anyone say "ohhh i didn't like iron man so the whole MCU is gonna suck." if we're going movie by movie, we can compare Iron Man and Man of Steel. Though I liked Man of Steel, I feel Iron Man wins that round. Next, I think it's fair to say Iron Man 2 (would be the next considering it's the only pre-The Avengers movie with multiple Avengers in it) and Dawn of Justice. Then JL vs. The Avengers, Thor vs. Wonder Woman, and so on. even though DC is behind as far as time goes, let's see if they also get behind in quality. then, the real bashing can begin (not saying specifically you're bashing or anything).

SlowMotion It would actually be just as interesting to see how Bruce Wayne would have turned out if he was not born into a wealthy billion-dollar family and had no butler or mansion at his disposal. He probably wouldn't even have time to learn martial arts or any other skill because he'd be too busy working an 8am to 5pm job to pay his apartment rent, pay his bills, put basic food on his table, and pay his car note, car insurance, and medical bills. So I'd love to see a Superman with no powers versus a Bruce Wayne not born into wealth where he'd be just a bare-bones boy growing up in such a capitalist world. This way both Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne are starting at a level with no advantages.
