@@luckyloonies4378 we legit don’t know. We know from hindsight from FO2 and some, SOME, rumors and theories from interplay (OG Devs) that Vault city was semi forcefully encouraged to join the NCR and since then we got little to no word about the settlement. As for what happened to the NCR after New Vegas, which was the last we heard of the west coast in the universe before the show, it mostly depends on the player’s choices, when viewed from the RPG perspective. For Bethesda’s perspective, it’s clear that neither the NCR or the Legion won the battle for the dam. Instead, far as I can tell anyways, it follows the independent Vegas ending since we obviously see the NCR being hyper militaristic and still suffering immense losses thanks to their imperialism being overpowering. As for a best guess, it’s likely the NCR tried taking back Vegas, failed to either the securitron army, the brotherhood somehow coming back and wrecking their shit (unlikely considering what we know about their situation in NV), or something worse. I’m leaning into the worse option, mainly because of the possible consequences from lonesome road. Tunnelers moving into the Mojave and people not really being able to do much, the divide’s dust storms gradually moving outside of that place and decimating all nearby areas, and more. We just have to wait and see for not just season 2 but also just for the series in general.

In the games, there's no serum that slows down the brain degeneration that makes feral ghouls. Some ghouls keep their minds until they're killed while some go feral. It's slightly hinted that social interaction keeps ghouls from going feral(since it uses high brain functions) but no one's ever sat down and studied ghoul neuroscience.
@SebasTian583234 ай бұрын
I mean, one ghoul doctor has spent decades studying ghouls to try to discover pretty much everything he can about them, and he still doesn't really understand what causes a ghoul to go feral. He hypothesizes that isolation can make a ghoul more likely to go feral, but it's not a sure thing.

What I really dislike is how light the power armor seems to be, it flexes way too much when they move and they somehow move it/set it upright with ease.
@robm67264 ай бұрын
Thats probably a downside due to having a practical effect like that. We are at the beginning stages of exoskeletons and power armor like suits IRL, so make it light/fake/ and cheap for actor safety.
@jzpowell21084 ай бұрын
Well, to be fair, going by the games, a suit of power armor only weighs like 50 weight in your inventory (I’m gonna assume that the weight is in pounds based off Fallout: NV service rifle weighing round 8.5 which is about how much an actual M16 weighs loaded) So it’s entirely possible for it to be lifted and shift around, going by that logic cause 50lbs isn’t a lot of weight for one person to shift around
@Waffletimewarp4 ай бұрын
@@jzpowell2108yeah, I mean, historical plate armor isn’t that heavier, and the weight basically vanishes when distributed properly on the body. That being said, there’s no way it’s only 50 pounds based on the sheer amount of systems inside, and the sheer impact of the armor when you drop even a moderate distance. Chalk it up to the devs having no real sense of scale to the encumbrance system.
@TF2CrunchyFrog4 ай бұрын
@@Waffletimewarp Keep in mind, the power armor was created by advanced 2070s technology, not 1950s, despite the retro-scifi vibe of the Fallout franchise. @jzpowell21084 ай бұрын
@@Waffletimewarp well I did use Fallout 3’s T-45D as the basis for the weight (the armor itself is 45 with the helmet being 5) and as I said, I’m assuming the weight is in pounds based off comparisons of the Service Rifle in NV compared to its very real counterpart of the M16… make of it what ya will… guess you could compare the weight with its Fallout 4 counterpart which has weight per each piece (head, torso, left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg) and see if ya get a different result

What’s the ghoul is using in the inhaler is a serum that keeps them from going feral. Which makes no sense since the two things that make them go feral as we know, isolation and constant significant amounts of radiation. As we see in the show, ghouls need this serum every day or else they go feral.
@insertname39774 ай бұрын
Well that's two things that are theorised to do so, though it seems to be more of a crapshoot related to genes.
@irishdc95234 ай бұрын
Thing is we don't know if that's a guarantee. It's true that anti-social or extremely isolated ghouls are more suseptible to going feral, and radiation does play a role. Severe mental trauma (like the ghoulification of NCR troops at Camp Searchlight) can also be a factor. We know for certain it has to do with degredation of the brain, but that's about the only certain thing. We also saw moments where groups of people were turned into ghouls, but a few didn't go feral, like Captain Zao of the submarine Yangtze or Oswald Oppenheimer, the glowing one magician of Nuka World. It's also worth pointing out that the show takes place in the year 2296, later than any other game in the franchise so it may very well be possible someone developed a chem capable of staving off feral states in ghouls at this point. It does take place within the sphere of influence of the NCR, so they could've had a government project dedicated to finding a treatment, sort of like how governments supported COVID vaccine projects over the last few years. But from how we've seen Cooper drop after a few days without it, it could be that it's highly addictive so it leads to severe withdrawls (similar to how severe alcohol addiction can be life threatening if going cold turkey) or the process of going feral continues and the drug holds it back (like the Alzheimer's treatment from the most recent Planet of the Apes) Also, if you think about it, everything in the Fallout universe travels by word of mouth. So even if a piece of information is accurate, it may not be as reliable as it can be in a functioning society with devices to record events, people who's job is to report on events, fact-checkers to verify what's true and what's not, etc.

On one side, you have Jason Bright, a charismatic cult leader, and the other Oswald the Magnificent, is an exceptional performer, incredibly kindhearted and driven to find a cure for ghoulification.

I don’t know if you are familiar with Back to the Future, but it felt like how it looked liked for time fixing itself through Marty disappearing from the photo and reality. I draw a chart trying to figure out. The funny is I’m back doing the same stuff I used to do: Dirt biking, writing, fighting (not picking them but ending them) and speaking out. For some reason before my memories came back I was emotional and an artist. I don’t get that. I’m thinking about writing maybe in a couple of years living this life again.

A reason I can think of why the ghoul isn't worried about moving away from the target is that, the digestion of the head itself is not an issue if what you're after is the peice of tech hidden in it, which will likely not be digested and could just be collected from the gulper's waste after said digestion.

There's a lot of stuff like that. Like how the brain bot that controls the vaults could have just locked him out with the door instead of... letting them in with all the managers. It's Bethesda tier writing. There's so much fallout related stuff too that comes up. Why do Ghouls need special medication? They don't even need radaway. You go feral in super high brain melting rads. Not because it's like "Zombrax" where they have to keep taking it.. they're not friggin infected zombies. And who the fukk is making this stuff? Why are the Enclave back? The Oil rig exploded, Raven Rock exploded, the crawler Exploded. Arcade Gannon had to go to a retirement home to dig people out. Why do the Enclave have to redevelop cold fusion? They already have this technology with the GECK. The Government (Enclave) and Vault tech have research agreement considering the funding. Why do they never say "Chinese" and why do they force vault tech nuking the world? (I think I know why because PR garbage.) Why does this power armor have such a HUGE FLAW and nobody even after Operation Anchorage knows this? Or ANY of the BoS? The BoS in this are so terrible. It's like they tried to write the dark brotherhood in power armor. How did The Master not know about the 3 other vaults but some other dumb raiders could find it? He's literally next door in the bone wastes. "Water chip fallout 1 reference lmao also we're doing nothing with this." Bleh man just bleh.

? It makes perfect sense to me, if he knew they'd be the ones dropping the bombs, why would he feel worried? It would be calculated and him and his daughter would be safe. He says something to the effect of "Met a guy awhile ago when i was drinking and doing chems in some town, gave me something that was the greatest high ever, turned me into a ghoul , werf". One interesting thing that I didn’t hear you mention (or I missed) is that axolotls are neotenic. This is likely connected to why they are so good at regenerating not just limbs but even organs and CNS tissue. Very rarely axolotls can metamorphose. When this happens they lose their gills and begin to resemble terrestrial salamanders more in structure.
