Not knocking you, but Phelps is also a freak of nature where his lactic acid tolerance is 50% higher than most everyone else. Meaning, when you 'feel the burn' or you're doing exhaustive exercise like swimming, Phelps doesn't feel the pain until everyone else is already hurting a lot. He's literally swimming like he just jumped in the pool while everyone else is on their last wind as if they just swam a mile.

I like the idea of leveraging your purpose to take action vs how you feel on the day. Important than to remind yourself of it each morning so it's front of mind

I agree with this concept. Its best to not let you emotions dictate your actions, but rather your actions dictate your emotions. Too few run their lives with ambition beyond that of their emotions in the now. I see it best to go through life pursuing goals outside of now and feel the emotions along the way.

Never wait for motivation. Discipline is the answer. You either have it or you don't. Dig the pain! Live in it. Destroy and dominate it. Focus on making yourself better. Don't focus on getting more. Imagine tomorrow as a world where your money has no value and your things are all gone. That you will be starting over on your life with your own skill and what ever you come across. Embrace mortality and love God with all your being. Knowing that all things come from and are part of a total. Demand everything and expect nothing! You will never sell you or anyone else short and you will never be let down. Success is not things or money. It's meaning and self progression. High performers without this mentality often find themselves very unhappy with life. You can do better!
