Erm, nope. It's a nice reliable diesel engine but a total slug compared to the OM60x models. The OM64x models are common rail versions and also very good

Yes, the OM617 is much tougher, due to having a cast iron head. Generally speaking, aluminium isn’t the best material for a Diesel engine head, unless it’s extremely well-made and well-designed, and even then it kind of had its own negative impact on the legacy of the OM603 & OM606 engines. In the naturally aspirated versions, they were fine, but, ultimately the greatest flaw with the OM606, is the aluminium head. Here in Albania, they’re loved very well, but they’re not known to be quite as reliable long term, as the OM617, when it comes to forced induction.

603 is 12 valve and 606 is 24v, otherwise pretty similar.

OM606 and OM 603 are the same engine differing in Number of valves. Thats it. Don't invent info. in Every day use 606 isn't even better than 603. The power isn't usable, and the Low down Torque of the 2 valve is much nicer.

The 606 is just an electronic 603. Shit, most high hp 606 builds have a 603 pump. Quit dancing. Ur not good at it.

Id have to go with the 603 just for the fact that its an apocalypse engine. The 606 just isnt. A emp and the 606 is dead weight.
@mytmousemalibu11 күн бұрын
A 606 is not just an electronic 603. Its architecture is similar but its 12v VS. 24v You cannot get anywhere near the amount of power out of the original electromechanical pump which is why everyone uses a modded M-pump off a 603. A 606 isn't any less reliable than a 603 with the same Bosch M pump. Its probably more reliable since older 603's had bad head castings that cracked andvthe new 3.5L 603's are called rod benders for a reason. The 606 had none of those issues.
