If anyone's in need of instant anxiety, you can find some right here: 3:06 (Where did you film that, by the way? I don't recognize that area.) Great video! Recently got a basic ol' H1n and it has already transformed my audio significantly. Love that little guy.

Awesome! I haven't used the H1n yet. That was Fat Mans Pass on South Mountain. 🌵 It's a neat area, takes a little work to get to though.

Surprised that you're doing an H4 vid now when Zoom is up to the H8. I have an H5 and love it! Good info.

At some point I have to stop upgrading for a while! 🤣 I started this video over a year ago. It's just one of those I had put so much work into I just wanted to get it done. Still a great recorder though!

@@rynfilms yeah! I was really surprised at just how well my H5 worked as a VoiceOver mic recently in my echo-prone office while doing a tutorial video for my daughter's video footage. They are solid recorders! Always enjoy your content, Ryan!

@@rynfilms My H4N still works great

depends on the person, what they want, need, and their budget... I got sold a H4N Pro this year when I decided I wanted to get into filming. keep in mind that's 2 years after your comment. it's 2023 now.

Thanks for this. I put my H4n away for the last 2 years. On taking it out I now find it covered with a horrible sticky layer. The rubberized plastic has somehow sweated out a glue-like substance. A glance a KZbin tells me I'm not the 1st!

So many awesome recorders out there... the real stars in this though is the Rode and Sennheiser microphone... I use a much smaller recorder with a wired Lav mic and it's clean as can be and it still allows me to have the multiple tracks and sync in post. Something I picked up for weddings.
@rynfilms3 жыл бұрын
What recorder are you using?
@shaneperry52343 жыл бұрын
@@rynfilms Some Cheap Chinese things from Amazon... cost about $20 a piece .... put some Rode Lav mics and works well, I was really just looking for something to get quick and cheap as "back up" audio but it turned out to be the right fit. I didn't think I would do enough weddings to upgrade and just never really saw the need to.

Thanks so much. Very helpful and informative.

and the Rode wireless Go records the audio for even another back up. Good video
@projecthowto3 жыл бұрын
Even the h1n sounds better than the recording on r5 In both cases using the RODE film maker. The only annoying thing is syncing the audio
@KaiTiura3 жыл бұрын
You are using the snap, or clap, method to have a loud sound to synch by?
@rynfilms3 жыл бұрын
I find that the auto sync in Premiere does a really good job most of the time. It could be harder in other programs.

"You don't need a better camera!" Same guy: blurring the background with a 1.4 prime lens. 😂

Could I ask what lac mic you use? I have the h4n and the rode wireless go and the audio seems muffed with the rode lav+
@rynfilms3 жыл бұрын
I don't know the exact one, but it's the one that comes with the Rodelink kit.

I just wish it had a more intuitive interface, and didn't feel like a cheap plastic toy. 🤷♂️
