💜 Hey! I thought I didn't discuss the second tip of this video in-depth, which was to _"activate" your brain,_ so feel free to read ahead! 💜 What it means to activate your brain is *_to go with the natural parts of yourself that look for socialization._* By nature, *everyone* has (at least) some sort of feeling of wanting to be included in some way or another. That being said, this is usually always shut down by always looking over *analytical emotions,* which are simply emotions that you would just get from numbers and technology. Always looking at your phone no matter the situation typically tends to you *going away from **_KNOWING_** how to process the feelings* of wanting to be included. This is why it can always be essential to understand where *you* want to start first. Perhaps you want to start off with socializing by simply discussing to others via online voice chat, then build up from there to perhaps waving at someone you already physically know, verbally saying hello to a friend or stranger, etc. This can also lean into *nonverbal* communication, where you may want to physically feel more confident as well. Since there is a connection between body language and emotion _(e.g. tensing up before a school presentation),_ *learning how to relax your body* is also a great way to slowly build confidence within yourself. Perhaps take a physical breather before talking to someone, or focusing on releasing tension in your shoulders could work. I hope this helps, and if you want to see more of this, feel free to subscribe to continue our support towards positively impacting a life day by day.💜

CPTSD is a learned set of responses. And a failure to complete numerous important developmental tasks. This means that it is environmentally not genetically caused. In other words, unlike the most of diagnosis is confused with, it is neither in-born or characterological. As such, it is learned. It is not inscribed in your DNA. It is a disorder caused by nurture - or rather the lack of it. Not nature. What is learned can be unlearned. CPTSD is more severe form of PTSD. It is delineated from this better known trauma syndrome by 5 its most of common and troublesome features: emotional flashbacks, toxic shame, self-abandonment, a vicious inner critic and social anxiety. Emotional flashbacks are the most noticeable features of CPTSD. Unlike PTSD do not typically have visual component. Sudden, often prolonged regressions of being abused abandoned child. Complex PTSD From surviving to thriving

0:33 "Social anxiety is when someone is socially overwhelmed, they feel sense of emotional distress, unsure how to exactly process, how to talk to others" This is too general description. Medical social anxiety is fear of criticism and fear of scrutiny. Your definition can overlap with many other disorders - like paranoid, schizofrenia, borderline, narcissistic PD, autism, ADHD, ADD. When we do not keep narrow laser sharp definition - we will create definitions which do not apply to us and then develop wrong conclusions and detrimental decisions in life. For example - paranoid person if he is hallucinating - then it is best to have specific medications for this - not trying to control hallucination with own thinking, this is bad idea. Another problem here is - that you merged inability to talk as if this is the primary problem with social anxiety. It is not. Even though talking and being confident in talking is important for mental health - in social anxiety this is not primary concern. Once we handle trauma ACoA, narrative - our talking with confidence will come naturally - without us doing anything to fix it. 0:55 "remove yourself from over-thinking and under-thinking" These thinking processes come naturally as reaction/programming to operant conditioning in childhood. The same way as Pavlovian dogs cannot stop salivating when they hear bells by telling them not to salivate - in the same manner we cannot stop our defense mechanisms - because our amygdala has been hijacked by triggers. We need to learn what is happening first. Without education in Complex Trauma - our attempts to stop overthinking will end as dysfunctional coping mechanisms - usually by creating addictions, perfectionism, workaholism and mostly through self blame. 1:23 "Take step back and focus on your emotions" Most people fail to label their emotions in correct manner. Most of people will mis-label their emotions in wrong term - and then end up with panic, aggression, being nervous and hysterical as the result of mis-understanding own emotions. 1:54 "Activate your brain with exposure therapy" This CBT approach does not work well in real life. Problem is that our brain will be activated in exposure - but it will be activated like Pavlovian dog to salivate when there is trigger. It means - we will self blame, we will have harsh inner critic, we will attack ourselves, we will self sooth with addictions, we will pathologize ourselves - because this is what we learned in ACoA. Exposure will not help us heal ourselves - exposure will solidify the wrong posture that we were forced to perform in ACoA childhood. Exposure analogy is like buying fancy carpet to cover up cat crap in the living room - thinking that the smell and dirt will vanish with very expensive covering. 2:54 "Self-confidence" Self confidence is paradox. The idea that once we are perfect and without any weak spots - will never make us confident. Paradox is - once we accept ourselves as we are with all our weak spots - will make us super confident since nothing can put us down when we validate ourselves without placing any conditions..

Social anxiety is different from shyness. Also, if you are not sure to express your feelings to someone you like - perhaps it is best to explore why is that - instead of creating contact with someone when you obviously have some inner issues that need answers first. If you carry fears and panic into contact with other person - it will be doomed for drama and hysteria later on since the other person will never understand you and expect you to be perfect.
