So, the curvature smooth didn't behave as expected because one node was affecting the node right before the curvature node. (because one of them in a node tree was set to non-H and V tiling) I see! I just made the same error by myself for testing and solve it with your solution. It's a new concept for me! Thanks for explaining that

Hello. just a quick question.I followed your tutorial step by step but there is a tiny issue. In the end of this video when I checked my work in 4K it made my Macintosh flowers golden too(( I cant find anything that can cause it...(maybe I just dont see it) What can be the cause of it? Also,Thank you sooooooo much for this amazing tutorial !!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hello Aynur! Yes that can sometimes happen: you need to "trace back" the source of the problem, it's probably one of the threshold nodes that we use to extract the masks that is the culprit, try to tweaks these threshold nodes to see which one breaks the material

Thanks a lot! I have a question. Gemstones follow the curves of fabric, but in reality they are solid. Of course this is only noticeable at high magnification, but I would like to know if there is a technique that allows the gemstones to remain straight, i.e. so that they are not affected by the fabric? I don’t know if my question is clear or not, because I'm not a native English speaker.

You're question is perfectly clear yes! And the answer is... Unfortunately no, or at least not in Designer directly. What you're asking concerns the geometry and cloth simulation more than the material, so you would need to build a system of constraints that would make your mesh more rigid in the trim area. Not impossible, but a bit more work. If you look closely at my cloth simulation in the first video, you'll notice that the gemstones bend with the rest of the fabric... Not super realistic, but not super noticeable either! It all depends on the level of accuracy you want.

Hello, I am following the playlist of this magnificent tutorial and I love it, but there is a tool that you used to overlay the image of the fabric and extract the color with the gradient map node, I would like to know what tool it is, and Also another thing, it didn't work for me to change the connections in the height map to correct the smooth curvature node, I did the same steps but something must have affected it I guess and the solution was to break the inheritance.
@louisemelin11297 ай бұрын
Hey! The tool I'm using to overlay my image reference is Pureref, it's free and very handy. As for your other question it's hard to tell without seeing your graph, like you said, when you're not sure where the problem comes from just change the inheritance of the node manually :)

Does anyone have a link to that pbr guide from Wes McDermott? I see articles on 80lvl and the allegorithmic website referencing a free pdf, but the links now redirect to the adobe website and I hanven't been able to find the doc there.

Hi, you can check out the PBR guide here: adobe.ly/45cf0RF From the link you can also access part two.

yes it looks very nice in 4K but what about when you need to let it work for 1K think for example for games?
@louisemelin11296 ай бұрын
Then you have to balance how much information you want to put in it, how much is going to be actually visible etc. It's mostly art direction at this point!

how can I get HD fabric references like the one in the video?
@louisemelin11296 ай бұрын
This one comes from Stock but you can find HR images on pretty much any library: Wikimedia, Unsplash etc

Anyone had an issue where the output changes entirely if we switch to 4K?? Please Help
@louisemelin11296 ай бұрын
Hey! Can you specify what feature changes exactly? Minor variations are to be expected, but nothing too jarring

@@louisemelin1129 Hey its fixed now, it was some threshold issue where it is clearly visible in 4k but not in 2k. i have adjusted it. Thanks
