No iv never had any led mods fail, as long as you do them right they will last a very very long time, but glad you are modding up your Xbox, I appreciate the comment I try to make them easy and quick, happy modding!

i appreciate your comment thank you! i get my LEDs and resistors from ebay never had any trouble with quality. and yes that mod has been on my list for awhile and i defiantly need to do it. i try and make all my videos very straight to the point so im still working out how to simply and effectively make that work without being to confusing. in the past that mod has given me alot of trouble. i will put it higher on m list because iv gotten a few requests for that. thanks for watching!

Why do you add the resistor? My leds and resistors are in the mail. Just wondering why the resistors are necessary?

Leds have a current rating and if you put to much current through them they burn out or burn out quicker. There are calculators online that can tell you what the ideal ohm rating for a led is. Higher the resistance the dimmer the light. Iv started using 100ohm in place of 470ohm purely because I ran out of 470 and I have a bunch of 100.

No you don't need to, some people argue it was put there for a reason and you should put it back... Iv been removing them on modded consoles forever never had any interference issues... So I sat it's not needed and can be left out. Thanks for watching!

stupid question here but is the resistor really needed? seems like the led could take it with out a problem or at least the right one could or is there some risk to the Xbox that im not getting?

Really just depends on what the led is rated at. Some could take it. Even the ones I used probably could but you'd be shortening their lifespan.

Nice tutorial, ive bought a bunch of 5mm leds and 470 ohm resistors. But i also have 390 ohm resistors. Can i also use them instead of the 470?

Iv recently switched to just using 100ohm resistors. I started using 470 when I bought a bunch for some other project then they just stuck for awhile lol. But yes you can you the 390 as well. Thanks for checking out the video and good luck with your mods!

It all depends on the size of the led and how many you are running in parallel or singular. There is no definitive answer to that question.

Player one controller port will not light up. Is there a difference between player 1&2 ports and player 3%4 ports as far as wiring goes?

No they are all the same, maybe the problem is the led itself

Hey Bruno, yeah you can use smaller, I have used 3mm wide angle before. But really any led will work, I appreciate you watching happy modding!

3mm are ideal, you can fit two LEDs in each port & they sit neatly in the plastic grooves on each side of the wiring. The metal shielding can also be reapplied to contain the light.

Thanks for the video. Got my XBox looking clean now. One question have you noticed or experienced any buttons acting funny after the mod? Couple of times I had a couple buttons switching functions for a very short time. Just curious.

No problem thank you for checking it out, that is strange iv never ran into any issues like that and I don't think I've ever heard of it happening to anyone else, all I can suggest is making sure everything is plugged in all the way, but if it stopped maybe just a weird glitch in some game?

The controllers port will only output 5V I believe. It might even be less.
