Hi Bro, Thanks for watching the video. Sure, you can add your spouse at any time of the processing of your profile. The suggested procedure would be to inform IRCC via web form and they will get back to you with a list of required documents for your spouse. However, you may be asked to produce a convincing statement to the visa officer that why the things have changed. If everything goes fine, you will see the spouse details in your EE profile. Please consult the official ircc website for finding the webform and other required details.

Hello Sahil, No, you just have to submit the asked documents and wait for the spouse name to bw reflected in your gc key account. Updates may take a longer time than usual but they happen when they happen. Stay put bro

I got married after AOR and added my spouse 6 months post AOR. But, Ircc sent me procedural fairness letter that my CRS points are getting re-calculated and I might not qualify and suggested me to proceed alone w/o dependent. Does anyone had same experience? Family composition doesn’t affect crs points after aor that’s what IRCC rules say. Although, I took a chance and still proceeded with my spouse. Eventually, She got medical request and already added to application after I replied back to fairness letter.

Hi Bro, Yes, a couple can run the application even being in different places, however there are few things to take care of- 1. The spouse in India has to submit the passport and obtain his or her own Copr letter via vfs. 2. The primary applicant has to land in Canada before the dependent.

Congratulations for receiving ITA. It is very important to understand the difference between- 1. Adding the spouse to your ongoing profile. 2. Adding the new partner to your profile. The suggested procedure is to inform the IRCC through a webform about addition you are going to make to your profile and they will revert back with required document list. Please consult the IRCC official website before making any changes to your ongoing profile.

Hello Gursin, Thank you for this video, I am also in same situation I got ITA and I submitted all my documents and waiting for my COPR it was supposed to come in July 2020 but there is no update so far, I requested for GCMS notes and all looks fine and only final approval is pending, My marriage is fixed now and My wife does not have passport she applied for it and about to get it by end of July 2021, We are planning to get married after she gets her passport and apply her as dependant applicant in my application.... Is it fine if she has her old name on her passport??

Depends on Scenario. In Normal Situation The PR Processing Timeframe increases by 3-4 Months in total when spouse addition is informed to IRCC. IRCC can ask for Medical either upfront along with the rest the spouse documents or along with spouse Biometrics within a month or two after you submit spouse docs. You will get BIL (biometric instruction letter) and medical request letter. You will also see respective placeholder in primary applicant’s mycic account to upload the medical and all other docs. P.S- I intimated IRCC in September 2020, Got additional document request in October, Submitted all those in November. Got separate BIL for spouse in February,2021. This is all during Covid delays

Just the Marriage certificate, and your name in her passport(optional) will be sufficient to prove the relationship. However, visa officer at a later stage may ask for Photographs, documented proofs of Marriage like invitation card, venue bookings and bills etc.

Thanks Akhilesh, Primary applicant's information is mostly required during file submission and not when spouse is added later. No requirement of spouse's name in passport if you have other proof of marriage such as marriage certificate. Though, it is helpful substitute and can be done if you have time and resources to add the names

Hi, Thanks for watching the video. If you have not received the ITA yet, you can make an addition to your family as long as it is not reducing your score. Once ITA is received, if any addition is affecting your score may result in rejection if the your new CRS drops down below CIC draw. After AOR, it would be a good decision to disclose your family composition changes with actual dates.

Hi Sir, you are doing a great job...!!!! Before the question, I would like to explain my case. Initially, My wife had created her profile as a non-accompanying spouse. At this time her score was 459. If she accompanying me her score became 443 and the cut off for Ontario was 454. She got the invitation from Ontario and her PNP is now approved. So her total score is 1059(459+600). So my question is can she now change her profile to spouse accompanying? This will change her score to 1043. Will the IRCC consider 1043 or 443 scores? Waiting for your reply...

I had a question, if I get married after my AOR and before COPR (my AOR was Sep 5, 2020), would my husband be allowed to travel and work there if I update him as a dependent. If not, what is the fastest way to have a chance at being able to work in Canada? A spousal sponsorship? Second, he wont make the cut-off anytime soon due to the cut-off and my process has been delayed a lot due to COVID

Hi Kanwaljit, Thanks for watching the video. Most of the successful cases indicate that the spouse can only be added after AOR if - 1. The addition of spouse (marriage) has taken place after AOR. OR 2. The addition of spouse is not causing your existing CRS score to drop below the cut off draw at which you received ITA. In most of the cases, CRS is re-calculated (more appropriately, if the marriage certificate shows the marriage to be on a date earlier than ITA). Hence answer to your question will be - if adding the spouse is lowering your CRS down to a score less than cut off you received ITA at, you might have to reject ITA (if you are at before AOR) OR recalculation may result in rejection of your application. hope that helps. Hi Sir, Really looking for someone who has experienced a similar case. ITA - Dec 2021 Got married - Jan 2022 Web form request along with marriage certificate and spouse passport to add spouse to my application- Feb 2022 No response from IRCC till end of April 2022 COPR- April 2022 and received the visa The documents state I must not travel without the medical and police clearance of my spouse. The next day of the COPR and visa stamp, received a response from IRCC to submit the documents for spouse. ( Application forms, PCC and relationship proofs) Submitted in May 2022 Still no change in my application/profile regarding the addition of my spouse. Spouse medical clearance is not done and spouse addition visa payment is not done Visa is expiring end of October 2022. What can we do about this, as visa is expiring soon.
