do you known why after i crank the bars it goes back down after i drive it around? i have the rancho lift kit, in the back in have 27" and i cranked the front to 27" but after driving it i noticed that it went back down. Do you know why this happened?

Hi I did the torsion on my new 35 tires and it seems good .. but now when I drive the steering wheel shake.. that mean I need an alignment? Is that normal
@NewRoad
@NewRoad 3 жыл бұрын
It might shake due to several reasons - but for sure it it is good idea to do alignment after you raised it? How much did you raise it?

Hi, your video is really helpful and straight. I am thinking of raising my hummer, my question is can you keep same height i.e. from centre of the wheel to lip of fender for all 4 tires or I need to keep front ones little bit lower than the rear ones. Thanks in advance.
@NewRoad
@NewRoad 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, theoretically you can - but I have not tried and would not advise. The highest I would suggest to go is 23.5 inch. In any case, the more you lift the front of your H3 - the more stress you put on CV Half Shaft and other components. In my opinion - it is only good to lift the front for off-roading purpose to even-out ground clearance.
@mikeflo8903
@mikeflo8903 5 жыл бұрын
Great video! I’m looking to level out the front axle to the same clearance as the rear on my H3T. Have you experienced replacing the front cv shafts sooner than normal due to modified lift?
@NewRoad
@NewRoad 5 жыл бұрын
Theoretically, if you level it - it should wear sooner. From my 9 years of owning the truck experience - I had to replace CV shaft only once due to bad decision in off-roading. If I used my winch instead of having H1 yanking me from deep mud/boulders hole - I would still drive my OEM passenger-side shaft :-). My driver side is still going strong after 9 years (touching the wood). I have leveled my truck about 7 years ago. Keep it under 23.5inch and you'll be fine.

@NewRoad

Yes, you can reverse it. To be honest, I don't remember factory measure. If you remember how many turns you made - you can do the same in reverse. BTW, I found optimum setup to be 23 and quarter, that's what I currently have. I also have a bit of rubbing

@NewRoad

I would not recommend higher than 23.5 - you might have problems with CV shafts. Especially if you run after market CV, they go bad really fast. Try 23.5 and see if you like it. I used to run 23.5 and never had problem - but still didn't like how steering felt, so went a little bet lower to 23.25

Yes, it would - since the CV angle is changing. BTW, you don't need to replace torsion keys - you just crank your existing. My advise is to follow the video and crank it to 23 and quarter. I drive with this heights for 10 years with no issues.

Could this also be done without lifting the truck with a jack? Mine is raised already and yes I have replaced my CV joints twice already and upper controls arms 3 times and there is also popping on my steering wheel when I turn. This didn’t happen right away but over time. My mechanic lifted to high I suppose. I’m going to drop it. I’ve also notice that the front is sitting higher than the back.

+Humman. I don't have a lift kit. But I did manage to raise it at least 3 inch (7.62 Centimeters ) by putting 35 inch tires, lifting front-end as shown in this video, and installing high clearance leaf spring mounts and extended shackles. Sorry, what do you mean by 'striker and the lower lever'? If you mean fender edge and center of the wheel in front - it is currently at 23.5 inches (59.69 Centimeters)

Great video. Thanks. I was told by an auto shop a year ago to pay attention to the lift because it would settle from driving. I lifted it to 23.5 assuming it would do so. 1 day later it appears to have started to drop again. I checked the bolts and they haven't moved and are still lined up from my markings. I can tell ot dropped because I uad a gap heyween the control arms and the bump stops, and there isn't one now. Anyone have any idea?

@tmoneybme so far no. Pretty much all the research I've seen Indicates that as long as you only go 2-2.5 inches you'll be fine. The only thing I can say, is that like me if you get a used h3 you may have some surprises when it comes to repairing things if the prior owners beat the hell out of the vehicle before selling it or trading it in.
