We could use more guys like you on KZbin showing how to rebuild older equipment. Unfortunately we live in a throwaway society for most things, no one wants to get dirty any,ore. Lots of good information, Thanks Lance. By the way, it looks warm there, we just had -40 here in Canada. Keep smiling.

I grew up in Bundy, been in Gladstone for a while and now down near Hervey Bay. When we bought the house near the bay I was offered the old tractor that the previous owner had. Turned out to be an old Dexta and the similarities between Massey and Fordson of that era are a bit of an eye opener. It's in fairly rugged condition currently but I'd love to restore it one day. Good to know there's spares and knowledge fairly close to home. Nice job Lance!

Hello Lance, thanks for all your fantastic videos. I was just wondering how to change the hydraulic vertical pipe in the housing between the top cover and pump in the tea20. My pipe is excessively rusted and has pin holes in the top side of the pipe that is not immersed in the oil. Is that pipe a sparex part?

Hi Bear , great demos mate , polish up the old bush mechanic. I have recently picked up a TEA20 which needs a lot of love . One of the issues is the hydraulics keep raising without any help , can you point me in the right direction for what might be causing this ?
@BundyBearsShed

The TE20 had draft and no position control so you would be slashing and turn around and you are too high for anything, Google the Fergy Positioner I have one to fit but not tried it yet.

Hi Lance, I'm about to remove and strip the lift cover on my FE35 petrol. Regarding the cross shaft bushes; Massey Ferguson's online parts show 2 bushes per side, with an O ring in between. However I can't find the O ring listed as a part in Sparex, or the other parts supplier either. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks, and great videos!!

Having followed your excellent video step by step I have finally loosened off the top cover. However, It will not lift off. I have released the valve but the rear end of the cover hits something. The reason for doing the job is that the lift arms are stuck in the raised position . I assume that the crank is fouling on the housing when I try to lift it. Any ideas to release the cover would be much appreciated. If I undid the lift cylinder bolts and freed that off would that be a solution? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, I am currently working through my 1952 Ted 20 next job and including sure seals which you have covered is to renew the lower link pins. This means removing the axle trumpets to gain access to the nuts. Just wondering if you have any plans cover this job. Nick.
@BundyBearsShed
@BundyBearsShed 6 жыл бұрын
G Day Nick, Yes there is a video in the pipeline on the pins. You really only need to remove the left hand side, slide the diff centre out and that gives you access to both nuts inside.

Thanks again Lance for your superb videos - I now have a fully dismantled lift cover... the lift cover plate has a couple of hairline cracks where 2 of the bolts that hold the cylinder go through, also all 4 of the lugs on the cylinder have partially cracked off. Is this caused by carry too heavy weights too fast on the 3 point linkage? New cylinder ordered, presuming should get the lift cover plate off to an engineering firm.

Lance, thank you for making these. I successfully stripped down and repaired the hydraulics on my TEF20 based on them. I have a compact tractor a Mitsubishi 180 mt and she is a good old girl, but she is getting old need new cylinder head gasket need to refurbished steering box but the thing that puzzles me and I’m a bit scared of touching is the gear box/diff when I’m going down a hill with no acceleration the gear box and diff make a horrible noise. G Day Chris, The little ones are often easier to work on as they are not so heave etc. The benefit of the compact tractors is that the bearings are all metric so often very cheap to buy. It sounds like you have a bad bearing so I would pull the top cover off and have a look at least.

A mate and I have been swearing and cursing the designers of the TE20 for the last couple of weeks as we tried unsuccessfully to remove the hydraulic pump via instructions in the workshop manual!! It is a 1940ish TED20 and has a series of 4 small symmetrical holes in the front lower part of the bonnet side panels. Anyidea what these may be for, as there was nothing fitted when we dismantled the tractor. Also, the side metal decals on the bonnet, were these fitted to these early models or did they come later? regards George
