A hedgehog has started visiting my garden regularly. I am so thrilled to see it - haven’t seen one in the wild for years. The tips are very useful and l hope he finds me hospitable enough now!

Kind of. Mealworms are a fatty, high energy food. If it's all they eat, they can get too portly and will be unable to roll into their protective ball.

@@kevinmajorca A few hedgehogs visit our backyard every year, thru the wild camera we find most of them seem to be underweight (possibly due to lack of food in the wild), so mealworm is a good source of nutrition to them. Besides, we only feed mealworms occasionally as a dessert - we mainly use cat food.

Please do not give hedgehogs milworms instead give them calciworms although the look the same they are not milworm are not always good for our little friends

No worries, mealworm is a high protein food to hedgehogs, we use wildlife camera to ensure our hedgehog guests (especially the needy youngsters before hibernation) getting enough nutrition instead of developing into overweight.

I own a hedgehog. Mealworms are fine as long as you dont give them too much. Plus mealworms are their favorite so they will appreciate you more.
