Thanks so much for this video and the information in it! I can't imagine why there aren't more comments on this. You explained this so well and let us see exactly how it is done and what we have to do depending on how our machines are set up for button holes. Thank you again!

I love my Bernini but I have had the worst time figuring out the buttonholes. It was so much easier on my Elna that unfortunately bit the dust. Thank you for this video.

I’ve been needing to learn this. Been avoiding shirts. Didn’t want to take the effort to search KZbin for a tutorial but you just popped up on notifications and I know you’re a thorough and great teacher so I’m glad I get to learn from you. Thanks!

Hi . May I know your good name please? I have brother KLX27NT with one Step Button Hole feature. Si xe recently, I am not getting equal thickness after button holis sewn. Why? As per my sewing machine, Length should be F 1.5, width max 5mm, pattern Button hole pattern. Does thickness of fabric matters or thread thickness? Can you please explain😊?
@jayescreations4893 жыл бұрын
thank you. this is my first newer foot. I have always used the attachments, old style.. Can I go over my buttonhole twice? I will test too.
@MadetoSew3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can go over it twice. I do that on some of my machines where I don't have the luxury to select the stitch length on the buttonhole. To make it sturdier.

I'm having this same issue on my Viking Emerald 116 machine. The return right side stitch is less dense than the left side. Please help! Did you find out what was going on ?

Dear Aneka. Do you have any idea what a gift and blessing you are to the sewing community? I have a Bernina B350. I’ve looked everywhere on KZbin for help in learning buttonholes for this machine as the instructions in the manual are terrible. They are vague if they do exist. I made a beautiful linen shirt in a tailoring class I took in August. It’s sitting in my sewing studio because of my buttonhole fear. 😂Many blessing your way from far across the pond in the desert Southwest USA. I appreciate you!!!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘😘

Hi Aneka! Thank you for your videos. My question, and maybe you’ve covered this in another video, is how do I line up all my button holes vertically so they look uniform and straight? Do you cover this in another video? Thanks for all you do to help the sewing community. 🥰

Hi I always have a problem with automatic buttonholes the thing is when I mark the button holes where I want it to be but it starts & ends not in the place I marked 😭 somewhere up or down not in the exact place Can you please help any tips how to get the buttonholes in one place where I wish them to be..
@MadetoSew Жыл бұрын
Hi there, hmm… some machines can be a bit of trouble when it comes to this. My advice is that usually (with an automatic buttonhole) there is a lever that you pull down and the buttonhole foot pushes this lever to get the buttonhole to turn around. What I do is keep an eye out when I am sewing the first side. And when my needle gets to my button marking I push the lever for the machine so that the machine turns the stitching around and starts sewing up the other side. Does that help? Otherwise you could try a manual buttonhole? I do have a video on that. Aneka

thanks a lot, sis 🤍 I hope it will help me ill try it out and let you know... if you can it will be great if you Could upload a video regarding this method so that it will be much clear 🥰

I have a 550QE Bernina. when I clear the old buttonhole length, it just keeps using the old length, & will not let me sew a larger buttonhole. Can someone tell me what is wrong. thanks
@MadetoSew4 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara, I have just bought a 550QE off one of my customers (who sadly passed away). It won't arrive for a few weeks / months as it is being shipped from the UK to me in Australia. But I am have a look when it arrives. Otherwise have you tried contacting Bernina themselves? Without the machine in front of me it is hard to know what to suggest, but it does sound dodgy. I presume you have tried turning it on and off etc. I would give Bernina a call in the meantime. Sorry, Aneka x

How do you take off the buttonhole foot once you're done?
@MadetoSew4 жыл бұрын
It is easier than it looks to take off. Usually you just have to tilt them at an angle to remove them from the shank. I hope this helps? Aneka
