I threw a couple on an air bag back in 8th grade (2010), I was already good at them on Trampolines. Then Sophomore year I just went for it off a park jump, I was so scared of landing on my head that I hucked it as hard as I could. As a result, I did a perfect 1 and 1/3 backflip straight to my butt. If I hadn't extended at the end I would have gone straight back around a second time to my head, Lol. Hit my ass pretty hard, thought I pooped myself, (but I didn't). Then I started doing it more and got okay at it. now that I'm back into skiing some 5 years later I wanna get back into it. Good tutorial! We just got some powder in Southern California this weekend, hopefully I can huck one into some soft stuff and get my mojo back.

Do it on one that's very comfortable to you and that you think you can land it. Then really focus on the pop off the lip and be patient. The flip will come around if you set it properly. Håvard Berg You mean cork? Theres plenty of tutorials on that
@fr0sty4306 жыл бұрын
Its really easy. Just carve and keep your feet together at the takeoff. Look around like you always do. Its very important that you keep your skis together at the takeoff. In the start it will feel kinda strange, but you will get used to it. For me carved 3s are easier than normal 3s. Start with doing carved 180s and when you feel comfortable with this try 360s. Remember to not look down when you do them, cuz if you look down you will cork the 360. (This is how I think when I do them, other people may do someting else.)

Garin Vannoy If you’re still looking for an answer, I have one. I learned backflips not too long ago and I was always worried about how it would feel with skis on. I knew it was physically possible but I wasn’t sure how to compensate for the skis. Flip only slightly harder than you would on a trampoline. It’s not as much as I thought, and after a while you gain the strength and muscle memory to not worry about the skis and throw them just like you can on a tramp.
@flxkker19484 жыл бұрын
Walrus BFV I know this is late... but would you say beeing able to do back on ground helps with the extra pull you need in your flip?

@joost6016 жыл бұрын
Hi Jens, Another awesome video!:) However, I have a question about the 3s and 5s. I currently feel pretty confident about my 3s and 5s on small jumps and haven't had the time to practice it on a bigger jump yet (including airbag). Here's what I'm thinking about and what I'm unsure about when considering larger jumps: When I set my spin on a smaller jump, I notice that I look horizontally over my shoulder. I often have to spin quite hard, which causes less time to spot the landing when coming around. This is not a problem, since I think it is quite normal when you spin fast. I'm wondering if this would go wrong on a larger jump (so the horizontal set off and keeping the eyes 'high')? When I look at 3s and 5s that a lot of pros do, I feel like the are somehow spotting the landing as they leave the ground immediately. I think there are two reasons for this: 1 being that some of these tricks are corked, 2 they throw the spin over their shoulder, but immediately start looking at the ground afterwards. In short, what are you thoughts on where to keep your eyes when doing 3s and 5s on bigger jumps (also compared to smaller jumps)? Greatly appreciate an answer and sorry for the essay, haha! Greetings from the Netherlands!
