The most helpful and most eye-opening quote I ever heard regarding this topic was: "Everybody wants to change the world but nobody wants to help mom doing the dishes." Small acts of kindness, every day, mundane tasks you help someone else with, go a long way. Imagine how the world would be if everyone helped the people closest to them & influenced their direct surroundings that way. It'd be massive.
@kul21307 ай бұрын
It wouldnt tho. It doesnt change the system, it just deals with smaller problems caused by system, and they would appear again. Like in activism, you can spend hours explaining concepts to individuals or participate in something bigger, like some educational campaign, and do more for the same amount of time. People gotta stop coping with their smallness compared to the scary world and do everything to try to be heroes we wish we could be, cause even if we would never be those chosens to change everything in a lifetime people who did the most to the majority were of that mentality.

There’s a quote that says “when you save one person you save the world”. How I interpreted that is that if you show kindness to just one person, you’re already making the world a better place.

I often talk to strangers on the street and have mundane conversations with sellers etc… A lot of the times, I ended up spending an hour or so helping them, for example one day an Italian lady who couldn’t speak my country’s language and couldn’t figure out where her appointment was. I helped her call the people she was supposed to see and make sure the conversations went smoothly, walking around the building to find where she was supposed to go, even booking her appointment and showing her how to properly do it. These little things aren’t much on a world scale, but knowing my time and actions can brighten people’s days or get them out of stressful situations is my biggest joy. I love talking to people and learning about them, hearing their different stories. It doesn’t have to be big, a few days ago, a second hand bookseller in an outdoor market and I talked about curtains and sun damage on books, it was her 66th birthday that day, and she told me how nice it was to talk to me. Be kind, be curious, be open, life is so exciting that way.

So every year me and my dad go buy like tones of food and donate it at Christmas! My dad also paid for a down payment on a flat for a homeless lady and I try and carry old people’s groceries for them when I see. I m only 16 but I try… and I hope to volunteer in a dog shelter in the future to save the cuties! If your watching this congrats on trying to become a better person xx

when you feel guilt it serves a purpose = to make u a better person. when abundance of it paralyses you , the emotion has overstayed it's welcome. homeostasis doesn't occur radically , to balance out the guilt you have to equally deepen the extent of ur betterment is not facts. ✂depth can occur consistently in small efforts over time . that's how homeostasis actually occurs at a pace a human can be comfortable with. to save the world is too much of a responsibility for one person to shoulder. and to be perfect and balanced all the time is completely unrealistic. im glad u made this video
@Pieza_De_Queso7 ай бұрын
Homeostasis doesn’t mean balance, tho. A person who has flat feet untreated will develop a tilted pelvis, a varus knee, several muscles will be overworked or weak, which will lead to pain etc All as an attempt to achieve homeostasis. Homeostasis just mean a state in which the body can operate in a stable form, keeping the essential chemical and physical functions operating. Homeostasis mostly happen in this context of comfort for this exact reason: it is meant to keep stability and the essential operating at its current best. Current best doesn’t mean actual balance. Far from that, honestly. Able to operate it’s one thing, able to fully operate in a healthy, balanced almost ideal state is another. A very high fever can be an attempt to attain homeostasis, and it’s pretty radical, can even lead to death.
