You are 100% correct. I have never seen such hate towards a character and toxicity towards a playerbase like with Sombra-Players. They would rather spend hours complaining on forums instead of learning just a little counterplay... Being called slurs every other game just really isnt fun. When i play Sombra its just healthier to have gamechat off and not be in voice chat. WHICH SUCKS, because she is so good at callouts, but many people seem to forget there is another human playing a character behind that screen

@@starfallsf when orisa javelins me into a wall and then helicoperts me there for 5 seconds without me being able to move i also get the feeling of it being anti fun. Mei walling you off and freezing you is the same thing. There are so many "anti fun" characters its just blindless rage towards sombra

@@SALMON_OW wdym? we sombra mains feast on the hate... it fuels us, grants us strengh and its just fun especially if you catch someone typing and kill em to futher increase their rage. To me every support is lika a nut, u gotta work on em till they crack and then you can make em use their cooldowns or even ults just by using voicelines while in stealth

I think they've basically made her much harder while also making her worse, she's my favourite so I can see myself not even bothering to play if she feels entirely different

It's funny because both of your suggestions 1. make her a bit faster and 2. reset translocator after elim, were exactly what I told to my duo who mains Sombra (as DPS) after we tried to do a few games together. We're both support mains but sometimes we like to goof around and switch roles but we never found Sombra to be overpowered to begin with, sure, some players were annoying but because we queue together if there was a spawn camping Sombra we'd just helped each other up if we had this issue. I genuinely don't think Sombra deserves this change, she was a pretty balanced hero that had it's place in certain compositions but now she feels more like a less mobile Tracer. Let's hope they will make her kit a bit more useful with those suggestions tho, that would put her in a really good spot imo.

She has not been good for a while. People just hate countering her for some reason. She is countered by peel, spychecking, not walking in a straight line out of spawn while holding tab, staying somewhat close to at least 1 teammate. But people just hate the idea of being forced out of their comfort zombie mode gameplay loop. In higher ranks Sombra is mostly a joke its so hard to play her... I have played like 50 hours this Season on Juno and have not had any trouble against sombras since i know how to not fall prey to her

@@SALMON_OW yeah exactly, I main Kiri and everytime i see Sombra hacking me I'm iike.. oh hi, head head bye bye chica and I'm not even that good, I'm around plat. I feel like this change was catered exactly for the players you described - spawn tab holders, it's sadge

@@Sheleronk Feels like half the counter is not panicking aswell. Most players are in Plat or below so that Sombra has 60% accuracy at best, likely around the 40% mark lbr, but players are probably spraying around her in a frenzy. I've never found Sombra to be a problem bc if the sombra is actually good a basic counter swap to Cassidy is all that's needed; DPS with turrets can work too ig. I have one friend who is a Sombra main and no one else that we know (other than myself) regularly plays her, so to me it's rare to come across even a halfway good Sombra. Idk I've simply never thought of Sombra as an issue bc she's naturally countered if you have game sense.

@@SALMON_OWI as a sombra main like her changes I mean the numbers could use some work but she plays more like a dps now I hardly ever went invis unless I was trying to get behind them to take out healers but I managed to win a game recently where I was able to engage an Ana who was in the back line and by the time I killed her my translocator was back allowing my escape with her changes it makes it so easy to engage and then escape especially if u hack as ur stealth is just about to end it does make her more difficult to play but us sombra mains have adapted to the last two reworks so this is no different

If they gave the reason for similar playstyles of Genji and Tracer then she should definitely have the 1.5 movement speed increase

I’ve been playing sombra since Ow1 and her changes make her kinda hard to play, but the nerfs just make me want to play her moreeee. I haven’t been able to see someone actually adapt to the changes like you have and its such a relief to see someone do her well even with how John Blizzard massacred her T-T

Translocator resetting on elimination is absolutely crazyness I'm totally agreeing with Stealth being on a separate button, it sucks ass to be tied to his engaging/escaping only tool, i also think they could even buff the invisibility timing above than 5

@@Reager feels like both genji and sombra work pretty similar now i dont see why not. Both can cancel/deflect ults, both have vertical movement, burstier options and low range. stealth isnt better than wallclimb and double jump either

You know what those are a good ideas. Either give her a movement speed buff or making the translocation timer reset upon a kill like genji dash. I’m not a Sombra main but that seems kinda fair

To be honest, after the rework I just use trans-locator to escape and reposition-not to play her aggressively. She feels to punishable when flanking because she is squishy. I just play her like Soldier 76 now lol.

at this point sombra should be able to emp more ults like hog, soldier, etc, the game has 41 heroes and u only counter 17 which is less than half of them and 4 of all the ults u show are more luck reliant than actually skill to cancel them (JR, lucio, rein and EMP) due to how fast they cast is. Also EMP should still disable BOB for entire duration, is an ult for an ult FFS.

Personally I love the rework for the fact that I’d always get into the habit of running around to the enemy’s back and just sitting there not knowing when to engage and from the second of movement downtime of sombra exiting invis during her hack which made me frequently missing my virus which I always felt never did enough for me without hacking the enemy first.

@@pk8749 i see ALOT of lower level sombras having that issue. They set up too long because the perfect opportunity doesnt show it self. That change definitely has helped with that. But as people have stated after the first rework they are kinda dumbing down a character that had a very unique skillset
