Hi Kevin, you talked about to be able to pre-picture ourselves and personally I always be able to do that even before learning how to dance (my gift I guess). I close my eyes while I'm listening and I can see all the ideas of movement that the music is giving to me from the beginning to the end. But as soon as I open my eyes, nothing. It happened one time (no joke man I could literally see the movements) that I danced and my mind and body was so connected, so free, I felt confident. During 15 minutes, I knew how to put myself in that "trance", never had that feelin. It was like the music I was telling me everything like when I close my eyes and I'm not dancing. I knew what to do, how to do it, when to do it. It's been 2 years that I try to have that feeling again...Sometimes, I can sense that feeling but it doesn't stay. I tried meditating, silent my body, but nothing. I don't know if you can relate to what I'm saying but If you can clear that for me it would be great

Paradox, I'm taking my dance ambitions to new heights and have questions for you. I know you used to do martial arts. Do you still train? What are the most effective exercises for dance? How important is understanding bars and counts for freestyle? Thank you thank you thank you. You will never stop inspiring me!

thank you for making this video it helped me a lot and I can relate to everything your saying which is mind blowing. how can I dance without exhausting myselfe. I mix hip hop popping and Krump together and I find myself really exhausted after a minute of freestyle or a combo. also I've been filming my self for almost year now and that helped me create soo many new moves but when I try to use them again I can only remember like 4 out a time when I freestyle, how can I remember more moves when I dance ?
@vinaymehta56598 жыл бұрын
Aye bro theres a concept called battle stamina its essentially where you use your less exhausting moves first, use some dope moves that use more energy, and then use those dope moves that might be more liquid as a cool down or something fluid like smooth transitions and wait for slow beats

Hi Kevin! Question how do i work on creating moves or executing them after i "prepicure" them in my head. I can always listen to a song and think of moves to follow the groove of song with but sometimes i can't do them like i see myself doing some fancy footwork how do i get there and how can i work on getting there. Being able to not only see myself dance but to also do them. Thank you so much! I learned a lot from this video!!

Thank you for these videos, seriously helpful. I've never learned so much from others, I could relate to so much. You are amazing, brother. If I may ask, Paradox. Whenever I dance freestyle, my moves look clean and sharp. But when I dance choreography, the steps look like their forced, or if not, they look very stiff. They say it's all practice but I can't seem to understand why I'm better in freestyle than choreography. Would you happen to have advice for this? Thanks in advance. Love your vids bro.

Hey paradox i have a question. So I've been dancing for 6 years but officially doing hip hop, a year. This entire summer i've been dancing everyday working on foundation, grooves, bounces, isolations... etc. Basically I've just been dancing. During the last week of August I went to Montreal for a week to be part of a 5 day event battle. So i was dancing 100x more during those 5 days compared to the other days during the summer (i was sweating buckets). I gain a lot of knowledge during that trip and I've realized what to work on and how to train. After i got back from the trip, I took a week break from dancing cuz I felt like i really needed to empty my cup of water in order to gain new. Now that it has been more than a week, I've been trying to train but for some reason my mentality isn't in the mode to dance. Maybe its cuz I'm treating it like a choir instead of having fun. Idk. But I'm afraid that if this keeps happening I'll lose the ability to dance. Have you ever had this type of problem? I know in one of your videos you were talking about taking a break but how do you keep that feeling/mentality to dance after your break. I feel like there's a brick wall in my head and I can't break it through. All of my friends tell me to just let go but its easier to say than do. Can you help me out?
@bhavyajain98303 жыл бұрын
We all face this problem , I am not Kevin paradox but I can tell you the thing that I use , maybe it can help you , In times like these , I just listen to my favourite song and it's not a hip hop genre song , I just keep listening to some soothing songs and get myself out of bed and just move and groove to those songs , and then I again feel like dancing. And if sometimes I don't wanna listen to those soothing songs to get myself out of bed , I listen to old bollywood songs by different Independent artist like ( Can't get enough by Raghav and iceberg slimm) (Dance with you by Jay Sean) ( Rock tha party by Bombay rockers) These are some amazing songs to get yourself moving

Yo what's up Kevin! first off thanks so much for all your videos. I enjoy them and super appreciative of the time you take out of your busy day to help the rest of us 😁. much love for what you do! I watch a lot of them and I rewatch your teaching videos and I've tried to get my answer before having to bother you but I still can't figure it out so I hope you can answer if u have time, if not all good I will figure it out sooner or later. I've practiced bboying for most of my time dancing since 2005. I've always loved music and it was about last year I got better at expressing music through freestyle dance. when I show people in general they say it's good and they are impressed. when I show people that are dancers I always hear, "it needs to be sharper" I don't understand if that means my movement doesn't seem commited, it's not clear, is it sloppy? I'm at a loss. I ask this because I wanna enter battles to grow and learn from them but also I wanna show that I'm a good competitor, I wanna give it my best. I don't have much issue with control but I don't understand the concept of being "sharp" if you can help me and any others out there with this issue I would love it. if not then I know I will find a way to figure it out. again so much love for you thanks a million! I also have videos on my own channel if you would want to view what they might be talking about. peace 😃
@honey101demon6 жыл бұрын
Start with practicing slow brother, slowly slowly you make your moves more distinct. When you practice slow you give yourself more time to work on it and you also increase the edge... Sharp according to musicians mean being distinctively expressive... Hope I am close to what you asked, waiting for Kevin to answer your question mate... Love and peace

Great vid man.. Thnx for all the advice... You pretty much summed it up.... But i gor one snall thingy i wanna add ...and it's that when i'm dancing i try to make my moves, the way my body looks my position cool.. Like if you stopped the vid at that moment you'll think damn that looks cool or powerfull.... Etc ofc i practiced this while also trying to kill the beat ...i don't know if you think this is stupid or anything... But it made my body move better and prettier ,cooler

You are an amazing dancer and person :) I wanted to ask you, if you could give me some tips for my training or some types of practice i could do to become better. Because i always start to practice but i dont know what to do so i just freestyle and i dont feel like it is getting me somewhere..thanks a lot
@jnkhalik9538 жыл бұрын
Hello Paradox! It is Khalik! First want to thank you for your videos. They are so insporational and helpful. So I have basically two questions. First is about energy. Everytime when I dance or practice, I just push for 100%, letting out the energy, feeling the music,etc. (I hope that you understand what I mean=). And when I go to battles, I feel like I have no energy to dance and it is hard to move. So If you have any answer or advice to this, please share with us your knowledge. Second question is about routines or sets. When practicing is it necessary to make or learn some routines? Because I spent some part of my trainings for routines. But when it comes to battle or dance, I start to dance as I feel music without using that routines because I do not feel that these moves will be appropriate for this moment. Believe that you have some advice for this case also. Hope that you will give an answer for these questions. As most of dancers will bump into these cases also. Thanks in advance. Wish one day we`ll meet. Respect. Hip-Hope!

Do you know what songs will be use before getting on the stage or will you get a random song that you might never heard of. Hey ! Thanks for your advice to silence your body, it wasn't that easy but I did it and actually, it was pretty helpful. Though, as you can "silence" your body, is there a way to "hype" yourself ? Because sometimes, in battles, I just don't feel or like the music, but I still got to dance ! So I obviously do it, but it's not always that great due to the fact I don't feel the music. I know that I got to adapt myself and deal with the situation, but I wonder if you got one or two tips for me to "hype" myself or something like that. Thank you man if you answer, peace.
