Thanks, Tim. I was a serious competitive distance runner for about 10 years of my life and ran at a nationally competitive level for about 5 of those years. I can honestly say that running was one of the most beneficial things to my life in a number of ways and that it had a profound impact on my mind and "spirit." I definitely came to view it as meditation and attribute much of my success in life (work, relationships, personal goals, etc) to these meditative runs. I realize running is not everyone's thing, but I can strongly recommend running as a form of meditation and something that can be used alone or in conjunction with more conventional forms of meditation.

Here's my favorite trick for being productive. It's called doing it anyway. Just make a deal with yourself. From here on out, every time you think of a reason not to get something done, just do it anyway.

Scott K what the hell? Is this a joke? I'm laughing at the fact I think this is an actual advice and not a joke, And since I'm going out anyways to do one emergency (the cats need food) I'll actually do things I was going to do tomorrow because I feel lazy - go to the laundromat - grocery shop for the house too - bank - do my eyebrows.

Hey dude, don't know whether you see this. But, I'll nevertheless will leave a reply. In Buddhism(I'm a Buddhist writing) meditation is not just focusing on your breath. Meditation can be focusing on anything. I do a few, loving kindness, death nature of humans, breath and even my workout. Doing something with a single focus itself is a meditation. There are 42 postures to be exact as said In Buddhist texts that I said we can use to meditate. The Buddha himself used walking as a meditation everyday. Likewise anything is possible to take as an meditation and is very beneficial. Music is also one great to let mind be focused over hearing the same songs everyday or during a certain activity. Every morning after a workout, I take a shower while listening to same 4 songs everyday. And then, I write for an hour. When our brain realise the patterns it has less difficulty in getting ourselves focused. That's one reason habits can make or break us. Hope you or any other reading this found this valuable. For any further clarifications please let me know, I'll reply below. Thank you and have a great day ♥️

"Why can't I achieve my 10 year goals in the next 6 months?" -- I don't know if you're quoting Thiel wrong or if that's how he originally said it. Either way it's slightly off. The better question is "How could I do this in 6 months, instead of 10 years?" the subtle difference being your brain will instantly begin to answer *how* it can be done, instead of the reasons *why* it isn't possible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp-vhqOlipxkaq8m5s

What I learnt 1) meditation in any form couple minutes of your time a day is important as it is important to be have success and feel the success(feel like you are winning) 2) ask right questions. An excellent question is like how are you able to achieve your 10-year goals in 6 months. This is crucial as the better questions you ask others, the better questions you contemplate yourself and your thinking will be improved as a result.
