Fedor you read my mind, I've decided to concentrate on interviews)) Filmed about ten of them during my trip to Russia, hope it helps people learn spontaneous authentic Russian! Thank you for this video, I'm surely recommending it to my students!

I agree with you 100 percent- that’s definitely the basis of fluency. I’d love to get to that point- from there there’s really no limits.

This really helps, thank you so much! Being immersed in a language and culture as well as imitating native speakers is the best and fastest way to learn a language - and its always so helpfull if someone is so kind as to provide such recommendations to you! :) :)

I'm definitely guilty of only watching Russian WW2 movies. I've become addicted to them they are always so well done. But I will start watching the shows you talked about. Thank you so much for these videos! 😊

There are also TED talks in Russian, and You Tube clips of a late-night talk show Вечерний Ургант. In fact, there's a ton of stuff out there that just didn't exist back in the "dark ages" back when I was first studying the language.

Music, people, videos,.. but make sure you're having fun. If you do it in a boring manner you won't get too far very fast. It is a passion of mine. I fell in love with the music, then the people, and now I am wanting to understand more. I do not idolize russia, it is everything else I love. It makes for a great hobby too, until you realize it becoming a second nature and you almost forget others around you can't understand the words Lol. Find entertainment yes like he said as I'm typing.

Reаlly excellent advice! I watch a lot of police series and I'm sure sometimes I sound like a policeman. У вас есть право хранить молчание! Объявляй его в розыск! Брось ствол! 😂
@ssshhh_42385 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but you are wrong. THIS is how you sound like a policeman. Андрюха, у нас труп. Возможно, криминал. По коням!
@ssshhh_42385 жыл бұрын
You see, this is the exact thing Fedor is taking about. Your sentences are correct, but I can spot the lack of cultural experience. Cops in Russia never mention about a right to remain silent when arresting. And the order to drop the weapon is also very rare because it's not common having firearms for personal use in Russia.
@blotski5 жыл бұрын
@@ssshhh_4238 I agree. That's what I mean. I was being ironic. I should have said a TV fictitious policeman!! But actually, I didn't make up those sentences myself. I'm just quoting directly from what the actors said. I wrote them down. All of those lines came from episodes of Нюхач. It's the script writers who are to blame for misrepresenting reality. Although I think the line about silence was actually meant to be ironic or just funny. So both you and Fedor are right. You don't learn 'real Russian' from fiction. That's not how real people speak but you could say that about any language. A similar thing happens with people learning English from KZbin. There is a weird kind of KZbin English which has developed which is spoken loudly, overexcitedly and is full of expressions that actually sound weird to native speakers. Or uses lots of American urban teenage slang which sounds silly if you're not actually an American teenager. If you really said 'what's up you guys?' to anyone in England they'd just know you'd watched too much KZbin.
@nicks32575 жыл бұрын
@@blotski That's right! Plus anybody from the South would know it's supposed to be "What's up y'all?"
