I love how that one scene basically gave an entire generation of kids ptsd and they've now grown into a generation of adults that drive safer and either flat out REFUSE to drive behind those logging truck or do so with EXTREME caution. it unintentionally became a better road safety lesson then 95% of stuff they try to scare you with when you're learning to drive. My grandpa used to be a driver for some factory managers. In the 70s or 80s he was driving behind a logging trunk. A long came loose and came through the windshield and crushed his knee. He retired at age 50, around the time I was born. He died last year of Alzheimers.

DRUGS in this one. During the pile-up Kimberly's friends are all smoking weed, Kat is smoking a cigarette, the cop is drinking coffee, Rory snorts coke and the Hice Pale Ale guy is drink-driving. Later, Evan drinks a (Hice Pale Ale) beer right before his death. Tim is given laughing gas at the dentist before his death. Kat gives Nora (it's either Valium or Xanax) right before Nora dies. Kat is smoking right before she dies, and we see Rory snort more coke seconds before his death. Eugene is badly injured in hospital and almost definitely on either morphine or fentanyl for the pain before his death. Just something I thought I'd point out. That all seems like WAY too much to be all a coincidence...also, NOTHING in this franchise is a coincidence.

“180” is important because it means “turn around”, as in, “do a 180°”, just for those who didn’t know! Although it confuses me because obviously death is giving them warning signs beforehand, but at the same time, if they cheat death, it comes after them, so maybe it’s not death giving the warning signs and premonitions and stuff, or maybe death is just twisted which is also likely with the way he toys with and kills people. It’s literally a game for death. There’s rules, ways to win and lose, etc., and apparently all of it started happening since the first movie because it was all over the news and people started to notice, so maybe death was bored and created this game.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I've been binge watching your videos (very entertaining!). My thoughts are that no one is cheating death--death got bored with killing in the typical, expected ways and decided to have some fun by giving certain people "premonitions" that "save" them. Basically, there are no real rules, just guidelines that death sets for itself and that it can choose to break or adapt at any time, and it only keeps them alive to have more fun with toying with them, building their paranoia, and then killing them in gruesome, horrific ways. It's also possible that death is tired of not getting the recognition it deserves, always being assumed to be a "natural" force and never understood for the sentient stalker that it is, so it has decided to go on crazy killing sprees where the deaths are obviously more than just freak accidents so that no one can deny anymore who is in charge. Basically, everyone is just a mouse that thinks it was lucky to get away from the cat, but really the cat let it go so it could chase the mouse around some more before finishing it.

I get it that these movies were often dismissed for their ridiculousness and "impossible-ness" but since I first watched them as a child, THE concept/premise of the series doesn't fail to scare me. For instance if you choose to set the degrees to 76 instead of 73 Ashlyn and Ashley get electrocuted instead of burnt, and you can save Frankie. The article only appeared in the choose your fate scene (if you select Wendy choosing to check the rest of the map), which is an alternate ending. Kimberly killed herself but was then resuscitated, giving herself “new life” which Bludworth said would force death to start over. As far as the canon goes they are still alive meaning so far it’s worked.

What about the actual accident? The main reason why the protagonists with premonitions BELIEVED that their visions were real in the first place is because these accidents did really happen and they witnessed it themselves. The plane did explode. The pile up and car crash did happen, etc. Let's say Alex said that there's a bomb and then the plane did not take off. Let's say Alex wasn't arrested and let's say Alex, his classmates and friends, and the other passengers of Flight 180 will live (for a while). Then Death will hunt them down one by one. The passengers will die in the order of who should've died first in the plane explosion. Their deaths will be reported on TV, radio, newspapers and all but the problem starts here.... because the accident didn't happen in the first place, Alex wasn't able to confirm if his premonition is real, right?....so he would know nothing about any of this Death's design thing. He and his friends have no idea who the hell are those passengers anyway (Edit: however, they may know some of their classmates/schoolmates BUT that does not guarantee that Alex will immediately pick up the signs and he might not be able to connect their deaths to Flight 180 because again, the actual accident didn't happen) and maybe they'll just assume that the deaths are just freak accidents. (P.S. It's also important to point out that Alex also have these visions/can see signs on how each character would die right before it happen but I think it's unlikely for him to have all these visions (for all of the passengers) one by one. I believe the reason he can see visions or signs is because in the movies, most survivors were few...and maybe, just maybe, Death intended it to be that way and that he is the one who gives them signs/visions after all so that he can play a f***ed up game with his victims.

I swear that between 2:30 and 3:30 the red car changes position several times even though she's no longer driving. It becomes closer to the road and the angle changes slightly. When the truck hits the red car for real, based on the angle and position of the impact the truck would have been WELL off course and already deviating from the road at more than a 30 degree angle - if it didn't hit the red car, it was already imminently going to crash off the freeway even without the pile-up further up the road. The problem with Final Destination is that nothing is guaranteed. I like the bunker idea but the idea that the walls might collapse and you’ll end up crushed or suffocating is definitely something worth considering. Not to mention that if alone, there’s no way to call for help if you have abandoned technology. While being heavily protected is good for keeping things out, it also hinders escape if something DOES go wrong. Then again, it probably is the most sure fire idea. Great review!

To be honest I wish it would explain why people keeping seeing their deaths before they die like a real explanation

It's explained in these movies that one of the "rules of death" is that someone always gets a premonition, obviously. I've seen a lot of people saying Death itself gives that premonition, basically toying with the person of it's choosing. Same with the rule that says Death gives "clues" as to how each person dies. However... If we're talking about a movie centered on the Death entity. Then theres also the Life entity. So I drew the conclusion that maybe Life is giving the premonition, as well as the clues, so that these people have at least a chance of "defeating death". Just my opinion, since they never truly explain WHY.

I swear in each of these films, the Grim Reaper just wakes up one day and says “I just feel like I’m not collecting enough souls” and decides to just brutally eliminate everyone
