Ultimate Turkey...I promise... if you are cooking a turkey this year for Thanksgiving... especially in a oven...I beg you to try brining it first... it really is the difference between normal and fabulous and I would not tell my subscribers to go to any extra trouble that I didn't think was worthy...I have fried countless turkeys in my day...I mean a bunch!!! and nothing comes close to the moist excellent turkey that produces except this...I would love for you to try it and see what I mean and post your comments... good or bad... in the comment section of this video... it is a totally different turkey... if you have the Ninja XL PRO OVEN...a Briner Bucket (or something that will do)... some type of Brine mixture such as the one from Rodelle i got at Costco and follow the steps i do in this video... your guest will love you!!! but I already do whether you cook me a turkey or not...lol... thanks for stopping by... love y'all all... jelly
the link i mention in this video about the USDA guidelines on whether to wash or not to wash your turkey is here...

I'm not sure why it would say that unless they mean to cut down on smoke but depending on the temp you are going to it really shouldn't matter... butter starts smoking at around 350°Fahrenheit and gets worse the higher it goes... but mine did fine...thanks for watching!!!

Hello John, for the Ninja foodi grill, do you recommend the model with or without the probe?

John that looked so good I may finally break down and brine my turkey this year. I usually inject my turkey with a 50/50 solution of Creole butter from Tony chachere's and turkey broth and put it in the fridge anywhere from 6 to 10 hours. Then I will rub it with Tony chachere's Creole butter and put my seasonings on top of that which consists of rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. I have always cooked mine in a conventional oven in a turkey bag and it has never disappointed me. With those bags you get the perfect Browning and when it is done the perfect juiciest turkey you have ever had! But after watching this video I think I will definitely have to try to Brine this year.

I know you covered this in a previous video, but once you preheat the oven and start the probe cooking cycle, it sets the temp to what it has programmed for that particular choice. If you chose beef, it’s a different oven temp than lamb or pork and it holds it to a different probe temp on the inside. It doesn’t matter what it weighs. I can see why you love that oven over the XL Grill. It cooks the same way with that probe, but it’s big enough for a turkey, chicken or even a brisket. Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a breville oven which has the air fry function and I was planning on air frying my turkey this year. Do you think it is wise to brine the turkey and then air fry or would air frying be enough for a juicy turkey? I’m pretty sure you didn’t air fry this turkey right? Wasn’t sure if it’s ok go mix brining with airfrying .
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 3 жыл бұрын
I have never tried a whole turkey in my Breville.... so I really can't say other than I would make sure it will fit the Breville is not as tall as my Ninja oven... the function i selected on the Ninja was "Whole Roast" and that particular function runs the fans at the highest speed so it is a Air frying function in my opinion so as long as it fits without touching and with some clearance I feel sure the Breville would do it but I cannot speak from experience...I hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!

It is a very useful device... it is a induction cook top that is worth every dime... this one is made by Nuwave and is one of the more advanced one that does 1800 watts...I highly recommend it or some type of induction cook top for any situation... you do need pots and pans that a magnet will stick to or they will not work... but I love them and have several... even some rather high end from Hestan Cue that is very impressive but only works properly with their fairly expensive pans...thanks for watching!!!
