While you're on this type of subject, do you use scents on your lures? I've tried a really popular brand and never even gotten a bite,I also used thier brine but it was colors and that didn't work either. I haven't been back out since because of multiple back surgeries and a nerve issue, this year is looking better so I'm trying to plan ahead.

I use Atlas Mike’s Lunker Lotion for scent

Can you freeze those brined baits?

Yes, Once brined you want to take them out of the brine and vacuum seal them before freezing.

Thanks for sharing Mark. Nice easy recipe. I was wondering where you source your bait? Are you getting it from West coast or did you find a supplier in Southern Ontario? I am interested in finding supplier mainly for whole Herring for strips, I am located in S.Ont.
