If you want those glue joints to hold up, put a little glue on the end grain and use your finger to spread a thin layer over the end grain. Let it dry. Now when you glue that joint, the glue won't just go up the end grain and leave a useless glue starved joint. Simple but it makes a huge difference in strength.

You need silver line to send you a chop saw save you having to use a hand saw all the time, although it does count as a workout
