Holy shit I've literally got my short block on a stand and I'm about to put the heads on and I see that this video just dropped 40 minutes ago. What timing... Your videos have single-handedly convinced me that I could rebuild the engine in the 170k mile GG WRX that I stupidly bought without a real inspection. You're the best, thank you so much. @@Smeediai know it’s hard to get an accurate answer, but do you know about how much this rebuild costed? Type RA block, heads, oil pan, etc, i should start saving just in case haha. And with a proper tune should a build like this last a long time? (also a hard question but reliability is often more import than overall fun)

I normally do them but the heads we took off were scrap and went to the dump. So I found a set of fully refreshed B25 heads for the owner that were ready to go. But if you get new valves you HAVE to have a machine shop do set up unless you have tooling. You’ll either need to grind the stem or cut the seat to get valve lash appropriate

@Smeedia Is this part 2 for the 2005 STI? This and the other is great. I just bought 2006 impreza 2.5i as fun daily maybe for winter too. I would do rally roadcourse it. I do live near roadcourse track. Thought mines non turbo. Its an ej253 am learning lots and think i can improve non turb. ej253 from this and others. Would you ever do a ej253 non turbo rebuild to improve few things on it still keep stock
