How To Build Camper Overhead Cabinets For A Van Conversion | Transit Camper Van Storage | 007
In this Transit Camper Conversion episode, I built some top cupboards for storage in my Transit Minibus.
Here's what I used in this video:

Nearly every camper conversion I have seen includes top cupboards. Because of lack of space for storage and the other things that you have to fit into a conversion it seems the obvious place to put some storage. It is space that wouldn’t be used, and shouldn’t cause you to hit your head, because there will be things underneath that should keep you at a distance from them.
It isn’t somewhere you are going to keep very heavy items so although it does need to be strong, you don’t need to get carried away by over-specifying it. I decided to make a strip wood frame that would be encased in ply with doors at the front.
I have seen quite a few different ways to build these, some seem much better crafted than mine. But I think my design is pretty good especially as it was fairly simple and quick to build. I will have to see how it works out in use.
