I had to really asses the basics again. Been lifting consistently for almost 4 years and I'm accepting that I'd increased too much weight too fast on some exercises. I'm going to dial it back and really perfect time under tension. This is great info. It really visualized an optimal rep.

I'm thinking of buying a home gym that's on sale and this is just what I needed to understand it! I know the exercises and reps and all but didn't really understand this part so thanks Jacob!!

Great video! The idea of expressing a repetition as a circle was very new to me and I appreciate the visualization! Most of the other things you discussed, I had heard before, but you expressed it very nicely. I was surprised when you said that the top part of the hip thrust is most important. I understood that the most important part of each exercise was the beginning part - the initial movement of the muscle from a relaxed or stretched position to active, and that the part where you would normally flex the muscle, like at the top of a biceps curl, is least important. Did I misunderstand you?
