I built one of Ben's D105 ovens a few years ago. The design both works beautifully and is easy to construct. I had no issues at all, and I had never attempted brickwork before. Worth every penny.

From their support, written instructions and these videos you will get a sense that the company wants you to succeed and they care about your success.

Hello, I have some questions: 1. Is it possible to use calcium silicon board as a whole? That way the thermal insulation will be better and lighter. I don't know if there is any downside to the lighter weight of the pizza oven? 2. Or whether the refractory bricks of the main body of the pizza oven can be changed to Insulation Fire Bricks (IFB BRICK), so that the heat insulation effect is better, and the weight is at least half lighter, and it is easier to install.
@TheFireBrickCo Жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm not quite sure what you mean by the first question, but I can definitely answer the second one. I cannot advise using insualting firebricks for the main body of the dome, for two main reasons; 1. You want the dome of the oven to soak up and retain heat, which it then emits as radiant heat to cook your food. Insulating fire bricks are designed NOT to retain heat, which is one of the reasons they are so light. While this would mean your oven is quite lgiht, it would not perform the way you want it to at all. The internal temperature would go up very quickly when the fire is lit, but the minute it dies down a little, the temperature would drop rapidly. 2. Insualting firebricks are very soft. If you hit the wall of the oven with a tool or some firewood you would damage it straight away. Hope this is helpful!

Hi there, I am seriously thinking to buy a one of this kit since couple of years but after your Masterchef experience which has helped to convince me about your company , Just got some ideas for you guys how about giving a colour for individuals bricks like type 1, type 2, base ,wall ,etc so people can figure it out easily . thank you for sharing this masterpiece
@TheFireBrickCo4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tayfun - good suggestions! Firebricks of this type don't come in a range of colours unfortunately - we could have them glazed but that would make them rather expensive! We are looking at getting our next batch numbered on the outside face to make them easier to identify.
