Self esteem is a state of mind, its what you think you worth! Base on that perception about yourself, you decide what kind of life you should live. keep in mind that you are a human being who deserves respect, dignity and the best that the world has to offer. Just work hard and believe in yourself and you shall have it all!

@Flandre Scarlet i hope you're still here. The universe we live in is inside our heads, even though it exists without & outside us. If you can't convince yourself rationally, and most likely you won't if your head is not working well as for now, a strong, irrational, resilient will to live is what you need. Things will change, reality is dynamicity at its core. There isn't any objective value of someone, the subjective point of view is much more relevant and you, ultimately, are the point of view :)

ive lost alot of negative friends and found myself alone. trust me learn to be alone with yourself and build yourself up. little tasks goals achieve them (i lost all my weight after being a big guy at school) and you'll start to feel better without the toxic people around. you may get lonely but if your your own biggest fan and your own cheerleader you'll start (slowly) to feel you deserve better. then get out there join societies clubs etc and low and behold your life will start to take a different path. you got this gabriel i believe in you x

Building self esteem is hard if you are not living in conformity with your values. You need to follow the road that seems the most right to you, not the road that others are expecting you to go with. And if you realized that you made a mistake with your choice, that's totally fine, recognizing that you made a mistake is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of courage!

I am a fan of your work, a lot of it has helped me in my life. I appreciate that. This advice can work for people but it is somewhat breaking down and oversimplifying solving sometimes deeply ingrained issues. Look at people with narcissistic personality disorder. Their whole personality is designed around protecting their weak self-esteem. They constantly tell themselves that they're great or awesome, yet inside they aren't happy. A lot of the advice in this video is to try and change your thoughts and that can help and will work for many people. But there are exceptions, and I just want people to keep in mind that this video is not a one-fits-all solution for everybody. If you have very ingrained issues with self-esteem or are depressed and can't seem to get out of it despite trying things like suggested in this video, remember that the most reliable thing to do to help yourself is to see a therapist.

These are great tips. Self-care helped me get out of my rut, but what has really made a mark was to get to know myself better. It didn't matter how well I dressed, or how many people admired me, I still had low self-esteem. The thing that made me change was digging deep into those wounds that fed the negative self-talk. When I found out why I was thinking those mean things about myself, I became a better person. Once you understand yourself, and when you understand your journey, you can really start liking, and eventually, love yourself. After 3 years I've come from loathing myself, to start liking myself. Making myself dependable and responsible for my actions really made a difference too. Self-respect starts by saying to one self, what I do matters. What I say and do has an impact on others, so I'd better stick to what I said I'd do, and do what I think is right. No excuses, no justifications. Learning to call out my own BS helped. Be the kind of person you would admire. Be honest and humble with yourself, and you will learn to like what you see in the mirror.

I love your channel, but i don't think this is the best method. I consider myself having high self esteem now and I don't mind having a messy room, I don't notice it anymore, I don't take it personally, it saves me a lot of time, maybe that's just me. What does help more is to dress well, shower everyday (as you said), but most importantly dress well (search for Ashley Weston, alpha m, rmrs for that). In addition to that I tried meditating everyday for half a year, and it didn't change anything (also no better concentration or anything), although i really wanted it to and there's not much you can do wrong when meditating. What I think helps more is to achieve things that are important to you (yes, takes time), and eliminate wrong believes (as you said partly). The best book about self esteem for me is this one: The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem Takes forever to read (because it forces you to think about your life, goals etc.) but it's the life's work of the author, he knows nearly everything about self esteem.

I often times feel like the only thing I have is my looks. I used to be so smart when I was a kid, but I started going through depression as a teenager and got an autoimmune disease that causes a lot of brain fog. I feel like an idiot a lot of the time because I can't think straight and I have to ask people to repeat things. I've become incredibly forgetful, too. I try not to compare myself with others, but it's hard to stop thinking about it because people tease me a lot for being "airheaded." I feel worthless at work because I make so many errors. I need to start saying your mantra and maybe I'll feel a little better. My mantra right now is "I always do my best."
