Suspension. I never noticed how much effect it has on everything performance. My suspension has been slowly getting worse, especially since I started making more power last year. My car would slowly squat more and more. Didn't think too much of it. After upgrading/replacing springs and struts, I can launch quicker, the car is more stable, the car doesn't shake in an irregular way when I take off from first gear, it even sounds different while running, it shifts smoother under power.. Just shocked at how many things suspension effects.

Idk if its really a "mod" but I will say it 2 million times. Tint tint tint tint tint tint. You can never hide a shitty tint job. I put one on my first car, big mistake. Just bite the bullet and get it done right with good quality tint.

Building the engine to be more capable than target power. Reliability will increase drastically

@@ruikazane5123 Can't stress this enough! No point slapping a turbo or even just sending it to redline, ever, without building the integrity of the engine first. If you want it 400 horsies running, then Id suggest building it for 500. You'll never have a problem, and you can still say honestly that the car can run 500.

I'd add: When replacing parts that interact with other parts, replace both of them. Don't replace rotors and keep your old brake pads (and vice versa). Don't replace your springs and maintain your stock struts/shocks (unless they are super sweet mag-ride or something). Don't replace your anti-roll bars and keep your factory bushings. Also, when possible, pair parts from the same manufacturer. You would be surprised how often buying lower control arms from one manufacturer and upper control arms from another along with sway bars from another with chassis braces from another yield a lesser quality experience than buying everything from the same company...even if it means paying a little more $$. Lastly, and in my opinion most importantly...if performance is your final goal, buy the best tires you can. Taking your stock rubbers off and replacing them with Michelin Pilot Super Sports or whatever will likely equate to better acceleration, improved handling, improved braking, & better steering input and response. Also, if you can install a wider tire on your wheels (or can buy wider wheels) go wider. It's all the same benefits, but more of it. Only real downside is an increase to road noise but let's face it, that intake and exhaust you installed will easily drown out the tire noise.

Religiously changing oil, fuel treatments, plugs, coil packs, cam sensors, ect...... and within the last 4 months and 5k later wheels, tires, suspension, exhaust, intake. The real Alex from Fitment Industries is speaking to my souls right now! First thing I did when I got my 2011 370z was fix it because it was used and I had a lot of minor problems that could have turned into bigger problems down the line. I can’t tell you how much money I spent before I actually bought my first mod. I also spent a lot of time at the dealer because regular shops couldn’t fix these so called minor issues. Then I did wheels tires and suspension 😜

My next project is gonna be an 86/BRZ/FRS build. My intentions for the build is very conservative, as I intend to daily the car. So, pretty chill coilover system with barely half an inch drop. 18X8 square setup wheels, keep the OE wheels to slap winters on them (am Canadian). Intake and exhaust swap. Tune. Strut braces front and rear. Master Cylinder brace. That's about it. Much more reasonable than the last project I had, and subsequently abandoned. It was a '97 F350 crew cab long box 4X4 with a 460 that has fueling issues. My plan was to rip out the fuel injection system, and swap in a 4 barrel carb with an inline fuel pump. Yeah, never happened.

I like a balanced car. I like that combination of handling and power. I've only driven a few 500+ hp cars in my life (not mine) so I do have that experience under my drivers belt now. And if I could afford it I would definitely buy a 911 gt3. Since I can't, I've been looking at getting a BRZ. They are sharp looking, handle well and plenty of mods to install. This leads into the topic at hand. Knowing your build. My focus would be street/track, as much I like the wide body I wouldn't want to cut into my fender just for a look. Though the BRZ lacks usable power in late models, here's to hoping the 2022 BRZ is worth the wait.

The first 5 thing to do before adding the big stuff (like putting a turbo do this before you do the first mod ) 1. Get a stock car on Google then go on photo shop and edit the parts on to it 2. Choose parts carefully (do not go and buy the first thing you see like a ricer) 3. Check your spending. 4. feal your car with the parts 5. do a list of what you have done

YbnAlex me personally (not lotta experience or a expert but🤷🏽‍♂️) 1.decide how you wanna build it (drift, track, street, ect.) then if there is any issues fix them and if it’s a part that might get replaced with your build buy a decent quality performance part instead of a oem one 2. PAINT CORRECTION I can’t tell you how much better a car looks with good maintained paint with no micro scratches ect. 2. After you have it all fixed up and nice paint start deciding the build order, do you want it to look good/have better grip/ acceleration with new wheels and tires first or do you want it to have the power first (Also I highly recommend starting with all safety stuff first!! Your life isn’t worth looking more cool or faster before safety). And from there the world is yours 🤷🏽‍♂️

I sometimes see cars with new rims, tires, and lug nuts but with those regular rubber long valve stems. Shoulda installed some aftermarket stubby valve stems before the tires were mounted.

One thing you missed, Dont rush your build 9 times out of 10 ull stuff something up and its always good to take your time and make sure every detail is perfect or ull be pulling parts, tranys and engines out trying to fix that one thing you rushed to get onto the car but didnt research fully

Did this exactly with my sound system 😂 rushed it for the first time but really just wanted to see how it’d turn out and now I know what to do, not to do, look for etc. sometimes you might have to fuck up so you can learn how to do it the best way next time vs maybe just doing it okay the first time and not messing it up.

For any new builder imma guve you a step by step on what to do. Step 1: buy a cheap starter car like a 350z or a honda but its up to you Step 2: do every maintenance you can think of on the car, will give you way less prombles and gives you your original HP, wear and tear tend to decrease your HP by a lot. Step 3: set a budget, 5k-10k is what you should aim for could include buying the car but the mid tier to higher tier mods tend to be over $800+ but its worth it. Step 4: tune your car or it will explode. Also you HAVE to take it easy so ur new parts get use to the new parts Step 5: after finishing the build HAVE FUN but please focus on track racing instead of the street there's people that would be heart broken if they find out you injured or killed someone, if you dont wanna die think about others other then that HAVE FUN!!!
