OK, I only recently started watching and trying crossfit, and I have to admit, crossfit pull-ups were driving me crazy. I could stand watching them. This was a great explanation and demonstration on how to do them correctly and they seem some much more controlled when you do them. I'm sold now. Well done sir; well done.

Great tutorial. Thanks. I have wanted to learn the butterfly pull up for a while but have been stuck on around 5-6 strict pull ups for ages and been a bit worried about moving on up to butterfly ones. Any tips to progress and build more strength in the strict pull up?

I just found out your channel and I must say I love your videos ( I've binge watched them last night!), they make you wanna go out and train like a beast! I'm not a crossfiter, nor am I a big fan of most of the crossfit community ( some people I know can be super annoying, practically throwing crossfit in your face), but I do use many compound movements in my workouts ( I do not mind crossfit itself, I actually like it) as I am training in a University rowing club. Thank you for the tips and tricks on getting my technique better! :D Ps. You've earned a new subscriber! Keep doing what you do! :)

Thank you for these tips, can’t wait to give it a go tomorrow in the gym. Just wanted to get your opinion and anyone else who wants to chime in with this - what about guys who are tall with long appendages? Being a tall guy myself I find myself shortening my grip when I feel like I should widen it for my pulls. I am also using the tallest bar in the gym. Any additional tips that you would give someone built like that?

Hey Richey, new member but have seen probably a hundred of your videos already because you're so entertaining. I've noticed in basically every video that you don't wrap your thumb on the bar when you're doing pull ups of any kind. Is this simply a comfort thing, or is there a particular reason for this? I've been told by a few coaches that wrapping the thumb helps with stability and lat activation, so I've been trying to do a full grip as much as possible.
