This was a BEAUTIFULLY organized how-to, the side by side comparison + voice over explanation was seriously the best. I wish you did those for every technical movement, it makes it so much easier to understand! And DANG TELL JAS SHE KILLED IT WHAT IN THE WORLD!!

i agree, this was one of the best how-to videos I've seen on this topic. I like that he stresses that you should have strict and kipping pull-ups BEFORE attempting to master butterfly. important for saving the shoulders.

Thanks for the advice with pull ups. Just tried my first chest to bar pull up yesterday. You've been such a positive influence. I just finished my first week after joining a cross fit gym. It was hard but awesome. Love watching your videos!

That butterfly progression was fu*%$# kick ass Craig !! Thanks a lot, Im going to try it next week, I struggle very much with the timing although I can do like 30/40 unbroken kipping pull ups while fresh....I think the one with the leg on the box and the other one straight will help a lot!!. Great vid and content as usual, keep em coming!! Take a break whenever you need, We understand that things are not always easy and sometimes we're just not there mentally. Have a quick recovery with your back !!

this is exactly what i needed! We did the wod Helen the other day, and i had to revert back to single pull ups because my butterflies were so horrible! trying this progression this week! Thanks!

This was perfect....my WOD has pull ups and I still haven't mastered the movement but this is broke it down to where I am not afraid to try it again tonight.

I wanna do butterfly pull ups so bad!!! This last week we had a day where we learned it but i cant do more than 2 or 3 reps yet. It feels so much better in the hands

If you're struggling with this pull-up and you happen to be a swimmer, try thinking of it as the butterfly stroke. Same idea, different setting!

How does a butterfly pullup make the bottom of the exercise put 500% BW on the shoulders, also if it were to then you'd probably just snap from that, the rotator cuffs arent meant for weight like that. Considering how most people don't do ~500Lbs. (if 100lb BW) of anything for working out, then I would assume that you'd also not want to do that on exclusively the shoulders.Somethings off, and I would say that theres no way you can generate 500% BW from any base momentum from gravity. (@5:55)
