This is a great video for the Cart Buddy, the cart represents the truck; scale is the only difference. Working on the volume output today.

Good stuff. Have you a video showing calibration of a knapsack sprayer… good old fashioned one. Great to hear you talk about your Christian faith. I’m just starting a lawn care business and l want my faith to be expressed in it..I just started a channel and Iv published 2 videos..( they are cringeworthy!)…

Can you leave it at 1 gallon per 1000 square feet and make the mixture richer? What's your thoughts? I have 300 gallon tank and don't want to keep refilling a lot.
@GCITurf2 жыл бұрын
You could but you’ll be applying more product per 1000 if you make it richer

@@GCITurf Thanks for getting back to me. I changed everything to put down 2 gallons per 1000 square feet and cut chemical amount in half. Thanks so much for posting the video and getting back to me. I wish you the very best.

Pete..I just got my first skid and came back to this video. Thanks for the calibration series!! Its very helpful for an applicator learning to use a skid. Need to order my lesco gun today and get my tank cleaned out. Can you do a video on how to maintain a skid sprayer, clean out the tank properly, stuff like that. There is a hole on youtube that needs to be filled, and your method of presenation is very helpful! Thanks bud. have a great weekend. Hoping to make some $$$ with the skid soon. Awesome video. Got a question have a atv sprayer 15ft boom width trying to find gallons per 1,000. So would I measure 15 ft wide 67ft long then drive say 4mph time that and then catch each nozzle add the total and that will give me gallons per 1,000. Thanks for your advice

So I did my calibration on my atv sprayer 3mph it comes out to half gallon per 1,000 feet. And 4mph is. 45 gallons per 1,000 feet. Is this enough volume or do I need to change my spray tips. Thanks so much again
@GCITurf6 жыл бұрын
That all depends on what you're spraying. As long as what you put in te tank is not too thick then you should be fine. Remember a lot of lawn care equipment sprayers spray at low volume 1/3 gallon/1000 and even 1 quart/1000
@Pigman71206 жыл бұрын
OK thanks for the information I didn't realize they spray that low. Keep the great videos coming :)

Ok...I have a calibration question for ya with an electric backpack...I calibrated mine prior to my Pre em application for my yard. Came out to 2 gallons per 1k feet when using a fan tip nozzle at my pace. Now, with that said, using the same fan tip nozzle, I need to spray the expansion joints in a concrete parking lot with gly to kill the weeds growing up through the cracks. I'm guessing I need to Re calibrate because my walking speed goes up when just spraying a crack, because there is no back and forth movement of the wand. So is it just a matter of measuring 1000 ft and walk it off with a stopwatch at the speed it would take to hold the nozzle, then compare that with the gallons used in that same time, or am I missing something?
@GCITurf6 жыл бұрын
rbljackson Whew! That’s a lot to type!!! I’ll answer this in the backpack video I make today

Hey Pete! Great video. I have a question on the nozzle selection on those lesco/chemlawn guns. Those yellow tips supposedly are for 2 gallon per minute, you just put out 2 gal in 22 seconds. I have never used that gun but I am about to get one and not sure the best nozzlel. I am going out at 2 gallons per thousand and walk at a similar pace as the guy in your video. Have you ever tried other nozzles? Green nozzle at 3gpm or the white at 4gpm.
@GCITurf6 жыл бұрын
Branden Rheinschmidt pay no attention to GPM. Just make sure your calibrated to 2 gallons per 1000 by your walking speed. The different color tips have different size holes which allow more product to come out. Does that make sense?
@brandenrheinschmidt17456 жыл бұрын
GCI Turf Services perfect. I figured it was just the hole size in the nozzle. Could definitely tell the spray got much finer as the pressure jumped up to get to the 2gpm. Every get any drift issues with that pressure?

This is why I got a tow behind. Tractor always goes the same speed and the height of the sprayer is always the same. Granted Ill still calibrate before each spray, but Im only doing this for me.

When you speak on following product labels are you mainly referring to the actual product itself and not so much the carrier water the label speaks of?
@GCITurf6 жыл бұрын
Michael Wassenaar Yes. Actual product applied per 1000

I have had good luck by measuring an exact amount of dye for the volume of mix. Then a person with a little practice can control vol/area by the degree of color on the surface.
