Off topic a little, I notice you have a glass top stove. My questions have to do with that. I’m new to canning, and have read the glass top stove scan only have a total of 50 pounds. That is my water bath canner and 7 quart jars. That does not give me weight to make the brine or whatever I am canning. Do you know the weight you have with both posts on the stove? Have you had any problems? What brand stove do you have?

I have a Frigidaire. I’m not sure about the weight it can hold. But I’ve always canned on it. I’m guessing I’ve had that stove ten years. Never had any issues. I’m just careful setting down heavy stuff but other than that, I’m full speed ahead;) I also use my double decker pressure canner on it too;) 🤷🏻♀️🥰

That’s a lot of sugar but I bet that’s not half of the shop bought! I’ll make some of this this year! Yum yum

Is the salt you are using canning salt or table salt?

After the slaw is in the jar how long before it can be opened and eaten? I enjoyed the video. I thought I heard a duck but the more I listened it sounded like a rooster:)

Lol you probably heard both. They seem to know when I’m in the kitchen cooking;) You can enjoy your slaw right away. I’m not sure how long they’ll last in the shelf cause you’ll eat it before you can leave it there too long;)
