HOW TO: Catch Australian Salmon on Soft Plastics | West Lakes, SA

A quick video on my most successful technique to catch salmon on soft plastics. This effective tactic can be applied in different locations that hold salmon. We were lucky enough to come across a large school of feeding salmon, which made things easy!

Great vid Alex, I’m in port lincoln and was wondering what the best lures are for trout. Meybe you could try several different lures when you find another school and compare how other lures perform. I love eating fresh trout too. Meybe you could do a catch and cook video. Just fillet the fish, coat in seasoned flour and fry in a pan on one of those portable gas bbq cookers. Then just sprinkle with salt and pepper and chow it down, or put it straight onto some fresh bread and butter, yum 😋 that is so good. Cooking and earning segments are very popular with vloggers and viewers. Remember we want to see you eating the fish too. 👍🏾😁

Nice to meet you in person today, sorry we didn't stay and chat but racing the clock to get to Bunnings and for fish down at Port Willunga. Got a good feed 18 fish , one nice Salmon, one whiting and the rest good mullet. Plenty of bites returned back to the water both under and a slightly over legal size - It's a good spot love to see you have a go there...

After watching this video I decided to head down there to this exact spot. Flicked a few different lures, put out bait on a few different traces. Plenty of burley but only a few tiny bream. No salmon today

Nice Vid we fished Basham's beach Saturday near Middleton, lots of 2kg + salmon around but only hooked 5 in a couple of hours. I feed a lot more, using a surf popper love to see you do better.

I use a penn 760 slammer reel and marine surf rod 60pnd braid. Caught bronzies up to 2 metres and gummies over a metre. Make sure you use steel trace rigs you can get them to make up in fishing shops if you dont know how to rig up yourself. any variety of fresh mullet is ideal bait but they eat everything if cant get hands on. Have fun :)

Maximus Mader use 10pound line and a 1/0 hook there easy to catch prawn for bait. Splash the water at the edge they usually come right in .
