Thanks for the video. I am thinking about switching to a Rekluse clutch (same process as your just showed). I thought the job was maybe more involved. Love simple to the point videos!

FWIW, with a pair of channel lock pliers, I can grab the pressure release arm above the clutch and rotate it clockwise enough to remove the cable end (and reinstall it later). This eliminates the need to remove the clutch lever.

Hey Gary, thanks for the instructions! Highly appreciated! Can I ask please, what kind of sealent you were using on the clutch cover? Is that really necessary?

I use a semi hardening sealant. Red Hylomar. It seals but will allow me to remove the cover without destroying the gasket later if I need to.

Is this going to work for Tiger 800 XC ABS model ? Also what brand plates would you recommend? Could you possibly share a link?

Buying a genuine part is best. Any bike clutch is generally the same, although I've never worked on a ducati.

hi Gary i changed my clutch last year and no problems but my fuel gauge doesn't indicate fuel level anymore. i did change the lever a few years back but the level did come back on after a couple of miles out of the petrol station. any ideas

Hi Paddy. The fuel gauge on the Tiger seems to take a few miles to register. It's not something I've ever looked into. It can be a bit worrying the first time you notice. You've just filled up and it still says you're empty. Scary. I hope this helps.

@@bikerstuff2 hi Gary resolved it. It's nothing to do with the float switch in the tank. I changed my clutch lever to a after market one not realising that the clutch sensor has a push pin that hits the back of the clutch lever to indicate that you have fuel in the tank and shows it on the screen. Terrible design detail. I put a video up myself on the subject. It was a costly learning experience. Good one to pass on

Do you need to drain the oil before removing the clutch?

No, it sits above the oil level.

@@bikerstuff2 Thanks, I didn't know that!! I assume therefore that the same applies for the crankcase cover next to it? I am asking as I need to take it off for powdercoating and if I do not need to to the oil drain, I can do it this weekend

To be honest, an oil and filter change is always worth doing. Any excuse for fresh oil is a good excuse.
