My 01 grand caravan belt just broke turning onto a major 4 lane road in my city. I was having a horrible time, I live in Florida it's 90degress out, no tools with me and only 16 dollars to my name. well a friend sent me 20 bucks to get the belt, so I walked to AutoZone and back then had no tools with me. I went through every thing in my van and found a socket wrench with 1 socket on it, a old melted flathead screw driver, the crowbar from my Jack and pliers from like the stone age. well your video saved the day, got my girlfriend, dog, and me out of there in a hour. Thank You so much for making this video. You had everything I needed right there, I didn't even have the diagram of how the belt is supposed to go on and 'BOOM' you put it up on the screen for me. Thanks Again Bro

This is the best video i've seen so far for changing the belt with the serpentine tool. Thank you! I have my van waiting on me to finish with the belt almost completely on, I just have to use the tool to get it onto the last pulley once it gets bright out in the morning.

I just replaced mine and the biggest tip is getting that leverage by adding a wrench to the belt tensioner before trying to pull on it! It made it so much easier! Thanks for the tip! 🙌

Note on THIS caravan you could also use a crescent wrench. It has the square lug on the opposite end. Not all tensioners are like that. On mine, Previous owner ran it with no oil. crank and rod bearings shot. Did a complete overhaul to factory specs. Scotty would be proud. This is an easy car to do an engine R&R compared to many.

Going to try it now! Two days ago I spent a few hours fighting with it after installing a new alternator. The van won that round and left my arm all sorts of bruised up. Time for round two! Thanks for the tutorial. :)

I hope you knocked it out in round two, and showed that van who the boss is. Well thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. Have a good day

I pulled my tire off for more room, the belt I bought was pretty tight so I had to leave it to the side of the idler on top and stretched it over all the pulleys and the Tensioner. Then with the pressure off the tensioner I had someone slip the belt under the idler. Since it is smooth the slid under easily.

Good video AJ! It doesn't look as hard now. Might give it a try and see if I can save some money doing it myself.
