Wanted to make 100% sure that I was understanding the directions that are printed on the battery cover that states to "contact the AC to - after battery replacement " which I assumed was something you would do with the battery removed in order to discharge the caps. Now I know that you MUST have a new battery installed prior to "AC reset" so.....THANK YOU!!!!

You've nailed that, though it's not necessary to use metal tweezers to put the new battery in as it's easy to just push it back in with your fingers and that negates having to press the AC button as it's not going to be shorted by the tweezers.

Very clear, but I wish you would speak and explain what and why ? I have a Canibal watch ( bought 2016} and I have fitted the 3rd battery of it's life. IE this is second for me. First time I did not do anything about shorting AC . Now it is not starting and I can see AC marked on metal part but it is not clear where to place tweezer legs ?

same here, mine is just dead after reset, no sign of life at all. ( battery is good too )

@billB101 it's common to get a dead battery in a new pack. Always check with another battery. Also by experience I had a watch that wouldn't reset and if it didn't reset it wouldn't turn on, somehow after many attempts resetting it magically worked.. idk if it was a timex or casio but that happened once and I read it can happen.
