I’m living in a hot n humid climate country. Workshop recommendations 5w40. Honda Engine spec is 5w20. I go for 5w20 for my 2006Civic. And I’ll stick with 5w20 for my 2008CRV2.0 as well. Safe fuel, smoother engine. If u r always on high rev, long city drive, hot climate u might want to consider 5w-30. Never go to 5w-40 which is too thick.

5w30 can safely be used in these engines in my climate and plenty of owners have used this viscosity. 0w20 in extreme cold might hit the cams milliseconds faster.
