Every one can be a mechanic. Or ANYTHING THEY WANT. All they need is videos like this to spread knowledge
@RolandasVyniautasАй бұрын
Yeah, good luck loosening the axle nut with a tie rod lol. These videos are good instructions, but in 95% of cases you're gonna run into problems like the bearing being seized in, the nuts and bolts stripped out, etc. Problem solving is what seperates a mechanic from an amateur enthusiast

Great Tutorial thanks. Just what I needed to swap out the speed sensor hub (passenger side) on my non ABS 2002 SXi 1.6. I won't even have to scrabble through the toolbox for the correct size sockets. Awesome!

There's absolutely no need to disconnect the ball joint. You can open the torx screws with a 13 mm spanner.
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! It is hard to oppose your suggestion, because in majority of cases it is pretty complecated to removed the ball joint off the axle knuckle. It is much easier to just put off three screws that hold a ball joint on a track control arm. Best regards, Autodoc!
@sekopiski5 жыл бұрын
@@autodocuk Well, the ball joint is riveted onto the control arm from the factory, so unless the ball joint has been replaced before, there are no screws to remove.

Does this video applies for all ASTRA G's. Mine is a Saloon 20DI Model (Year 1999) and lately I'm hearing a humming noise at around 60kmh and suspecting of a worn bearing
@autodocuk2 жыл бұрын
In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing that may be slightly different in the design features of your car. More accurate information can be obtained in the technical documentation for the car or by contacting the service.

USE A HUB PULLING TOOL. Revising my comment. The tutorial was useful in what is required to be done, but please everyone, don't be fooled by how easy it looks. On my Astra G, the brake disc could not be removed without taking off the complete calliper mounting. The drive shaft WILL NOT pop out with the light tap of a hammer. I actually messed up the thread of the drive shaft by doing that and have had to order a new cv joint.👿 USE A HUB PULLING TOOL. As someone else says, torque settings would be a very useful addition to this tutorial.
@autodocuk2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it is not possible to specify the tightening torque, this information can be found in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.

@scottgibson75345 жыл бұрын
@@autodocuk It may be informative and I applaud you here , but in critical applications like this, it would be nice to have audio as parts are replaced like clean surfaces apply medium locktight, tighten to 66 lbt ft then stage 2 angle then stage 3 angle, also drive hub nut same procedure, As someone no doubt without mechanical knowledge may stumble across this video and say ahh that,s how you do it, with dire after effect.
