One Question. I want to make the "Meele to ranged unit" to a global mod. I tried to change the H7Config, but it dont save.. I made copys and all the stuff BUT, if i close the Editor and start the game, the Heropedia neather in the Game the change stays. As Example, i changed the Djinns Attack-Element to Water and gived her the Ranged ability. All changed in the Creature-Asset, no problem. I changed the Creature-Folder IN the H7Config and tried to save the Copy (Like we all know, we can´t save or change Cooked Folder, so I made a copy and changed this instead). One Time i Succesed with it, but i really don´t know why. I done so many times, but it don´t change. So my question.. How to change this horrific H7Config.upk.... I had never worked with such a cruel Editor.. Please, save my Fun with this game :)

Hello, I dont have the game installed anymore so I cant check whats wrong. But I can give you some tips I was following when creating my mod. 1.) After you copy H7Config, make sure to save it as something else like: H7ConfigXXX.upk so the editor wont block the saving process. 2.) Any change you want to see in game has to be "linked" by the small green arrow so if you create a new unit and place it in, lets say YourMOD.upk file, you have to make a link from this file to H7ConfigXXX.upk so the game will load the modified unit instead of the original one. 3.) To not overwrite the original H7Config.upk which is in the game directory, simply put your modified version into MyDocuments: ...\Documents\My Games\Might & Magic Heroes VII\MMH7Game\CookedPC\Data (ofc now you need to change the name from H7ConfigXXX to H7Config.upk). This way the game will first check Documents and if a new file is there it will give it a priority over the original one. Hope it helps a bit :)

Ok... because i tried to add Gold Dragon to haven faction as champion unit but i can't :(

Haven is my favourite faction. Haven is super strong faction then others factions

@@Sabrloom Well so not a building but unit - you will have to modify H7Config and also the Haven town settings to replace one champion for Gold Dragon. But then you will miss one upgrade as there is none for GD.
